There is a theory that the reason that parents buy children small pets is to teach then responsibility but also to introduce them to mortality.
I had a great weekend with a great ride out to see friends on saturday and a sunday that consisted of reading the sunday newspapers, walking the dog and sitting on my arse. Divine.

Alice so sorry about your pet, I don't have much experience in the pet field, although I love them very much so I hope it goes to pet heaven with all the other good pets

and yes I really want to fit the scooters in the wedding somehow, but I don't think riding it will be an option... ideas welcome. they'll be at the venue for photographs at the very least..

I never know when it's half term and am always surprised by the lovely rides...

I still can't believe our tortoise ran away. I can't even remember the critter, though there's a photo of ickle me trying to stroke it. Perhaps that's why it ran off.

The scooters can follow the car when you leave the venue...but then you'll be jealous because you're not riding yours!

You could make a huge cardboard cut-out of a Vespa and stick it on the side of the wedding limo.

i had a great ride around richmond park yesterday. my new bitubo front shock has transformed the scooter and it really feels much more planted now. it also dives a lot less on braking.

i think i'll stop spending money now...

I am enjoying the 300 very much, and while not being a road hog, I feel a lot more confident in town overtaking. Though I've got some fines coming my way for riding in the wrong bus lane at Traflagar Square.... ugh.

On the other half, well, he binned his Honda 50 at 30 mph during the emergency stop. He didn't roll off the throttle completely and then hit the front brake. Not great but he was wearing the right gear and mushed my spare Arai into the road. He is okay, has learned an important lesson and has the willingness to get back on to complete the CBT.

I felt very guilty over the last few days because of his accident, even though it is not my fault.

That's an expensive helmet to mush, too, though obviously your other half's head is more valuable.

The Arai is going off to be x rayed even if I don't hold out much hope of it being okay. Did its job very well though. They are such a good fit, never had a snugger helmet.

I would feel exactly the same - totally irrational, though, and definitely not your fault! And a lesson best learned early and under supervision.

it's awful watching your other half drop a scooter glad he's okay. i'll be interested to hear the outcome of the helmet autopsy.

i'm liking the power of the 200 it's got more hesitation on takeoff than the ET4s but given my propensity for racing turkish taxi drivers off the red lights i think i'm best off leaving the transmission stock for now. i can't imagine what sort of mishchief i'd get up to with a j costa in there.

boyfriend has just walked in the door a neoprene paul smith laptop sleeve and a big sack of chorizo. the smell in the house is indescribable - sort of like freshly cured fibreglass soaked in garlic-scented oil

My mum hung a plastic owl from the clothesline to discourage birds from eating her strawberries. I don't know about the blackbirds but it certainly freaked me the heck out.

Yeah alright I'm biased and it would make your commute a little longer but you could open the taps on the 300 on a daily basis.

a couple of years ago my neighbour offered me a lock-up garage a few minutes walk from my house. couldn't contain my excitement but in the end the offer was quietly withdrawn when my neighbour realised what an asset it was
