The SHitty and the Super. (As under my avatar). Did you miss this? I sold the lovely Mr WM my SHitty 125 and upgraded it to a 300. It has become my commuter hack. The Super comes out about once a week and gets a bit of an Itai tune up. Will do a bit more in the Summer 8)

Out of interest this is what thescooterreview.com has to say about the Shitty clicky
Quote:
The SH 300 is a lot of money for a scooter but, think of it as the Porsche 911 of current scooters. So value for money, it isn't bad at all. It really deserves to cost more money because it's significantly better than its competitors. If I was buying a large wheeled scooter today there are only two real options. SYM's new Citycom 300i or the Honda SH 300. The Citycom is a fantastic bike at a fantastic price, but the Honda is better again in nearly every department. It just comes down to money; if you can afford it...buy the Honda.

woo goody, I ride up and down that bit everyday around 8:50am to be precise!
on a good day around 5:50pm to be more precise!

I'm off for another ride on George, then back, fitting his L plates for tomorrow, having a chat with him, you know, explaining where we're going and all that.. Might have to chat to Velma as well let her know she'll be going to Charlton tomorrow instead. She won't be happy as last time that happened, the Blackwall tunnel was closed and she had to go on the ferry! She gets sea sick!

alright alright, they're only machines, bla bla..

aghhhhhh wish me luck!

They look similarly SHitty. They feel poles apart and are built using completely different frame, panels and engine. The 125 is light and flickable, the 300 heavier and more solid, a bit like the way an LX/ET feels compared to a GT.

Dessa,

Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Really Bill ? Did you say that you have finally got a screen for the Hornet that Maver helped you aquire and now you've fitted it it looks really cool ?
Yes I did but no one seemed to notice it few pages ago.
That's a shame Bill maybe if it was an exhaust or a helmet for that matter it would have been more interesting.
Me thinks I'm going to have to modify the Hornet in a why that is going to provoke a reaction next time.
Goad goad goad.

Can we have pictures of the Hornet with screen Bill? Are you pleased? It was gusty on the A12 this morning and I longed for a screen on the SHitty. That would make it look even more ugly. Crying or Very sad emoticon

whoa fella
Yes I'll take some when I can.
I'm very happy by the way it looks but I've not had any running time with it so it's hard to judge.
The first time will be Saturday while on the way to the tunnel.
I'm going to wait until the pipe rots through until go shopping for a replacement for it so I doubt it will aquire any new goodies for a while.
All it needs now is a Donkei Skok sticker right in the middle of the screen and it will look complete or as the Belgians say "full".
I expect a full write up from the new pipe Genie with a power point presentation showing an increase in power and street cred.
Hey why don't Doug and Genie do a flicker pad of pictures of how to fit a new pipe to your GT ?
Wonder can do the art direction.

Dessa - Last little 'thinks' - do you know where to add oil and/or coolant in George? And how would you check your brake fluid/brake pads? Just something to keep your mind off the test itself and ensure the examiner is happy you know your bike inside out.

good luck dessa! can't wait to see the L-plate ripping pics ... if you really want to look like the dvd cover you've also got to remember to put a look on your face that suggests you are in transports of delight at your new-found freedom

bill, i am not going to wax lyrical about your new screen until i see a picture, and until i've had a chance to put on my spectacles and go over the 7-page spreadsheet you will provide, detailing its advantages (aesthetic and performance-related). once i receive all the proper paperwork and documentation, then i will wax.

yes! don't forget that! and be prepared to tell the examiner how you'd check for a worn out drive chain ... one of the people in my group at the test center got asked that question, even though he was taking his test on a scooter

right - to get to the oil I must remove the cover by the floorboards under the seat. I will then find the cap. I shall unscrew it. Wipe it clean. (bike to be on a flat surface) re-insert cap with stick. Remove cap with stick. check level is within lines.
HAA
Coolant (I didn't know this one), apparently it's inside the glove compartment.

Break fluids: on this particular scooter, it has break fluids on both wheels. there are eyeglasses by the handlebars. I would need to remove the handlebar covers. The mark should be above min. on both.

Break pads - hmmm do I check the disc for any scratches? Does it sound funny when it's worn out? Can you tell by just looking at them?

Brake pads - say you'll use a mirror to get a good sight of them and ensure they have at least 1.5mm pad material left.

Good.

Sleep easy, you'll actually enjoy the test itself.

Hope I'm not too late to say Good Luck Dessa!

Enable me, UKMV: do you peeps think I should buy this jacket? Or perhaps somebody else would like to buy it to keep me from temptation?

(It's awfully nice, but if I bought another jacket it really ought to be the long, warm touring type rather than a shortie commuter.)

As promised, geeky photos follow!

I would like to thank all of you for your support and in particular Jim who took time to take me around, without whom I could not have done it!
Also my parents for not letting me ride a motorcycle and therefore teaching me to overcome my fears and prove them wrong.
I dedicate this Oscar to, I MEAN, pass certificate to all of MV, with special thanks to all of the Donkie Skok Scooter Club of the United Kingdom.

With much pride and joy,
