My day by Bill age 6
So I get home, get the Hornet out of the garage and wash it off with Superguard Aftercare Shampoo then leather it off even though it's never even seen the rain so it's not really dirty.
After that I polished all the painted surfaces with Harley Wax (100 % Carnauba) then polished it again. Maybe a 3rd time I'm not sure.
Then I used Autoglym Gloss Protectant on all the crome surfaces and after that used Glass Guard on the mirrors, headlight, fly screen and clocks face.
I then treated all the vinyl trim with Autoglym Vinyl and Rubber Care then stood back to admire my handy work and put it back in the garage.

So where's the problem ?

I'm teasing myself for 2 weekends time. No I'm happy with my work today.
I've got to get up to the Old Smoke by mid afternoon so I can't go too far.
Back in the garage it goes.

this morning doug and i fitted my new bitubo front shock. [*GLEE*] the interloper's front end is a very happy place now, and i've fallen in love with it all over again. i'll probably keep tweaking the compression and rebound damping over the next week or so until i get it just right but even the factory settings are a vast improvement over the old shock, which was launched into a nearby skip.

this afternoon i had my tarot cards done by Dessa, the 'riding reader' it was very interesting indeed, startlingly accurate in identifying certain things in my life, and actually quite helpful in suggesting ways to reflect on and deal with them. and it was also lovely to have a little visit with Dessa in scenic west hampstead, and to meet the gorgeous Velma.

had a nice visit today from genie and her interloper, looking foxy with its red biturbo at the front, I learnt all about it and what it does and heard the LV pipe roar, now I know what the fuss is about that pipe and quite fancy one

anytime genie for the readings and everyone, thanks for the nice feedback, now you know what it's all about
I'll also have fresh milk next time for the cuppas (I've been experimenting with powder milk recently as I only drink about 10ml a week and they go off! - I can say so far, not as nice!)

moving on to a nice cold beer now and speaking of Milk - my download has just completed, shall watch it now! Razz emoticon 8)

It was one in one out at Doug's today. As I arrived Genie made a run for it!

Anyway, public thanks and gratitude to Doug for persevering with my JCosta install today. It was fitted very quickly indeed, just took about 45 minutes and then took another 2 hours to work out why it was squeaking like a mouse stuck in a trap at idle.

After much pondering and fiddling we got out the dremel and removed the small notch of offending metal in the transmission cover and all is quiet now. Acceleration is much improved, fuel consumption no doubt goes through the roof.

I know a lot more about the bike than I did before today which is great.

Big thanks again to Doug.

Charles.

That was another "difficult" JCosta install.

All in all though it was a fun afternoon. We also did an oil change, air filter change and a sparkplug swap. The latter few took less than half an hour.

I've got the same problem. Since I first registered with Westminster council, I've changed my scooter and had my debit card replaced, but I haven't been able to change any of these details with them, because their website is pony and doesn't work and they never answer the phone. So nowadays it's pushbike or bus to W1 unless I want a ticket. Scumbags.

I managed to speak to someone the same day, got a number off 118 118 (westminster council) then asked to be put through to parking and someone answered straight away

whenever I tried the number they had on the tickets it was hopeless, "press this, press that, then wait, then press this, then we'll hang up on you without answering"

I HAVE SEEN DONKEY DICK!!!!

Out yesterday for a walk. Passing by the back of the Royal Opera House/side of Cov Gdn, when we saw a red & yellow Lammy with "Donkey Dick" on one side of the bit that goes over front wheel, and "Winkle Man" on the other.

Rest of the scoot had various decals along the lines of "Bring back the rudeness" "Big up the cock", etc.

I didn't have a camera, or a pen (or I'd have left a note and a DSSC invite). Do any of the UK MVers know this scoot?

OMG that's like finding the holy grail of slightly offensive scooter club names i'd have put down a bit of cardboard and knelt humbly before the scooter until the owner returned so i could offer them a DSSC honorary fez for life.

it's just given me an idea for a DSSC t-shirt or next sticker: 'Big Up the Skok'.

wow it was windy this morning. i'm seriously toying with the idea of taking the mid-sized screen off and replacing it with one of those wee ones. and there is still a bit of adjustment to be done on mr. bitubo.... needing a bit less compression up front i think. [*pondering*]

WINKLE MAN!! Lawks.

Lovely, lovely weekend:

I had a pillion ride on the KTM Super Duke boyfriend was trading in, as it was my last chance. Then in convoy to Christchurch where the Fireblade was waiting.

The GP800 lost its pillion virginity too when I gave Howard a lift to the post office for a tax disc. Then he mounted his new steed and we went for a little ride to try it out. Safe to say he likes it, I think.

On Sunday the weather was still glorious and we had a short ride up and down the Purbeck hills, lunch at the Tank Museum at Bovington, then it was time for me to head back smokewards.

(Personally I think the Fireblade is butt-ugly, and also clashes with my GP800 (though matches the ET4 nicely).)

this evening's fun ... a gang of charming teenagers chucked a glass bottle at me as i rode home. it bounced harmlessly off my helmet then smashed in the road. i didn't stop but the driver behind me did .... boyf is insisting that i check to see if there was cctv in the area, and report the incident.

Well I hope you are okay and I admire you sang froid. I would report it myself. They may do the same to someone with less cool than you.

Something similar happened to me in Bethnal Green five years ago (bottled while wearing a skirt, called a whore etc). I moved shortly after. I decided to let them have their stupid, violent, puritanncial ghetto.

Anyway it's not a scaraboid 300 shopping thingy or Shi300t honda thingy (sorry doug ...great bike but Fugly as u like ) However I have always fancied the scaraboidy clone lookalike same as thing the BV500 especially in Black looks like something that Gotham City would approve of.
Anyhow... 2 hrs and counting for the new steed..... Am very impressed with my negotiating Skills on this one....

Still not telling you tho...details laterzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Alas not Husky although the GP800 or similar is on my shopping list for next year. I'd really like the Honda Griffon 750 but I doubt if we will ever see it.

Keep guessing.....
