okay for those that guessed good..... for those that didn't I took delivery of a 58 plate XEVO 400 i.e this afternoon, with 1500 miles on the clock, FSH 17 months warranty left. In blue and it's bloody lovelly.
The deal was........... straight trade with my Nexus ... very nice Guy off of another forum wanted a Nexus I wanted a bigger bike..... discussed it last night... done the deal today. XEVO was delivered .... Nexus was rode off into the sunset. £20.00 quid Insurance admin fee. Job done. |

Nice work!
...not that I can ever condone getting rid of a shiny red Nexus for a dull ol' Piaggio, mind... |

I have to agree it is not as smooth as the Nexus but it has certainly got loads more grunt.... and I like grunt

Get a JCosta. You certainly won't regret it in the 400. The 250 JC has more mixed results....

Will be interested to hear how you find the 400, Border. Congrat's on the new bike. Cosmetically, it looks in good nick. I didn't realise that the front mudguard didn't turn when the wheel turned.
I'd toyed with getting one of those. I would like a bigger engine, and a 400 would be about the perfect size for me (well, in fact, the 250 is pretty much perfect, but I've been trying to find reasons for a change after having mine for 3+ yrs now). Shame that I just don't find them as good looking as my X9 (which I acknowledge is not everyone's idea of a lovely looking scoot, but it does it for me whereas the X8/X7/Xevo don't). |

Your right Benelli... they are an aquired taste and yes I think the X9 is more appealing to the eye. However I had an X9 250 and although a great machine on looks and features I found it very uncomfortable on long runs I had the option at that stage of having an X8 250 which I took and to be honest for my own personal comfort the X8 was better for me.
I'm very pleased with it... the condition is absolutely unmarked mind you so was my Nexus, this has got 600 miles more miles on it but it's still barely run in. I do love the new dash with the dual clocks and I think (will be corrected no doubt) that the dash is very similar if not the same as the GP800. Best Regards to all. |

Passing by the back of the Royal Opera House/side of Cov Gdn, when we saw a red & yellow Lammy with "Donkey Dick" on one side of the bit that goes over front wheel, and "Winkle Man" on the other. Rest of the scoot had various decals along the lines of "Bring back the rudeness" "Big up the cock", etc. I didn't have a camera, or a pen (or I'd have left a note and a DSSC invite). Do any of the UK MVers know this scoot? ⚠️ Last edited by Benelli Boy on UTC; edited 1 time

since i can't supply any further links to DSSC theme songs.... allow me to crow about my new little screen on the interloper. i was having a bit of trouble getting to grips with the medium sized screen. even the inch or two of extra width in the legshield was having a profound effect on the way it behaved with the taller screen on. so i swapped it out for a short and sexy one. kind of like a mini-skirt for the scooter. i'll keep the taller one for winter riding, but i am loving the wee screen because it maintains the sexy lines of the GT200 whilst allowing me to sit on it comfortably at speed and not battle with what felt like a sail on the front of the beast.
pictures to follow when it's light. |

A bit long winded but I just had to post this taken from another site :
I am still laughing my head off. I know I've got WAY too much time on my hands when I'm sitting around thinking about how to do laundry on my scoot! I'm a long distance rider (not like Didiki, but I want to be like him when I grow up), and my "travel" trips range between 2,000 and 4,000 miles. So, space is at a premium, and cutting down on the clothing always helps. But, how not to be stinky? As you know, it's plenty warm under the seat (in fact, if you wrap up your warm din-din in foil, and leave it under the seat while you ride it will remain very warm - not hot - but VERY warm). So, as I was thinking about how to do my laundry while scampering, I came up with this idea (I haven't yet tried it, but definitely will on my next scampering trip). Put your tired out undies in a double-freezer bag (one bag inside of another), add a little detergent, and a little water - just enough water to make things "sloshy", and not so much detergent as to create the slime monster. Throw this under your seat at the lowest point possible (i.e., closet to the engine), and take off on your daily ride. The riding motion should "agitate" your laundry completely and get it clean. When you arrive in camp, rinse everything out in fresh water, and hang it out to dry (in your tent if necessary because of inclement weather). The next morning, you should be able to slip on dry, clean clothes. Put the dirty ones in the bag, refresh the water and detergent, and repeat the process. This will get me down to only one spare set of socks and underwear on my trip - one on me and one in the "washing machine"! Ride safe! Anyone fancy trying this out ?? |
