Who remembers "Gay Bikers On Acid" (or was it Gaye Bykers on Acid?)? A band from a while back.
Seems like a good name for a scooter club to me. Apart from Doug, Jim and that bloke from Happy Days, anyone else wanna join? Charles. |

Changing the subject completely (as expected on this thread)
I was cleaning my LX today and my little girl (she is 2) decided she wanted to join in and wash her scooter too. So off she goes to the garage and gets out her scooter and starts washing it next to mine! She can be so articulate, funny and mature at times. Anyways if you want to see a pic, I will take any excuse to post proud pics of my kids |

Doug - young grasshopper - you have a way to go yet before being a de facto GOG. These flutterings of fledgling wings just don't cut it, sorry. 2/10 must try harder... However I'm impressed enough to declare you, Charles and Fay have free entrance into the JimC Premier school of Charm and Diplomacy (tm) after your excellent contributions at the parking demo. So there's hope for you yet. |

Oh Cock
Sporting commute into work this morning, which included clipping my left mirror on a white van after a slightly less careful judgment of the wiggle I needed to do get through the gap.
The mirror is now unthreaded and flapping about. Any guidance as to how I can tighten it up before tomorrow? Wouldn't normally care, but riding abroad on the wrong side of the road with no left mirror is probably not a good idea! ⚠️ Last edited by Wonder Machine on UTC; edited 1 time

I've just Googled 'Gaye/Gay Bikers/Bykers On Acid' (take your pick) as is my wont and one hit came up with this:
" No kidding, there was a spin-off band called 'Lesbian Dopeheads on Mopeds'. " |

There's probably a really simply way to work it out that I've yet to stumble across, mind. Not that keen on Vespa mirrors but you can't really take them off and ride Central London - that would be far more dangerous! |

Wouldn't normally care, but riding abroad on the wrong side of the road with no left mirror is probably not a good idea! I've yet to work out a method other than trial and error for getting it right, mind - it's a pain! * Unscrew the small allen key nut that holds the plastic cover you will see at the base of the mirror. * Lift the plastic cover up the mirror stem to expose the brake fluid resevoir and you will see the base of the mirror and a nut above it. * Undo the mirror a bit (no more than about half a turn) so it is facing the wrong way. * Turn the locking nut clockwise as far as it will go (but very lose though) * Now turn the mirror back towards its normal position and the locking nut should lock down and the mirror should get stiff to turn (which is good). Get it to position and fix it all back together again. Any combination of the above in any order will more or less work and you may even get away without the pliers, but you will need the allen key unless you are really lucky and can turn the nut without moving the plastic thing out the way first. Long winded, but it should work. Charles. |

If successful I will probably make this into a wiki article so the next time it happens I can look it up. I often find that my mirrors work loose, even without the assistance of a white van! |

I knew there'd be a simpler way!
I don't have the right allen key to open the cover - in the absence of that, rest assured it can still be done with trial and error. |

It was mentioned to keep this post on page one and it is dangerously low so... thinking of something constructive ( ) to say...
Have seen the signs in bus stops that say that motorcycles are alllowed in ALL red route bus lanes in london, is this infact true and wherer does "London" extend to as Hillingdon hardly counts |
