Yep i'm scooting about in the rain and the VERY gusty winds we're getting off the channel.
Found out my 100% waterproof quilted extreem weather tank suit (they use em in the army) aint so bloody waterproof after all ahhh i love the smell of wet crotch in the mornin' Oh genie you've just brought back fond ( ) memories of when I was writing my MA thesis about 8 years ago (bloody hell i'm getting on a bit) that sounds exactly like my days of yore but you'd have to add 20 full fat Malborghs to the equasion and delete the cat.... oh happy days. I also had a mate of mine who was a cruise ship video cameraman who used to send me pictures of him waist deep in crystal blue oceans with not a cloud in the sky, dicking about with rays (the fish variety) and the ships dancing girls.. the bastard! he knew i was stuck in a dark, miserable room in Birmingham, so he used to do it for a laugh... hence his name is Evil Kev. |

I decided just to stay in bed until it was afternoon. At least the worst of the rain had finished by then, so I quite happily went to sort out a friend's new laptop. Huge puddles right across some roads, but precipitation was slight.
Well done on the belt Alice, you can be our minder. |

Erm I took that car today but I did spend most of the day working in the rain so I guess my day was balanced.

snog
Kiss chase involves giving someone (of either sex) a snog or a peck on the cheek then running in the opposite direction in a slightly pathetic manner (mincing is ideal for this ) so the reciever catches up with you so they can repeat the act. It's a way of finding out if the other person finds you attractive. It's a bit like speed dating without the £45.

right folks.... let's get back to business.
I'm going to propose a meeting place and time for us londoners..... 9:00 am at the Monmouth Coffee Company on Stoney Street in Borough market. I'm thinking of the larger shop, inside the market on Stoney Street, not the smaller one near borough High Street. here's a pic of the one i mean: it opens at half 7, so anybody that wants to arrive before 9 should be able to get a coffee. I'm not sure when the comte cheesemongers open, but if they're around i'll pick up some cheese for alice. there is an unofficial scooter parking area at the junction of Redcross way and Southwark street - it's a slab of pavement out front of a derelict building, beneath the railway lines. unless somebody comes along and digs it up between now and saturday, that's where i'll be leaving wilma. Jim, how long do you reckon it will take us to get from the market to Pratt's bottom? I was thinking we should allow an hour but that might be an underestimate. I'm assuming we can just follow the A21 - will that be ok for Shirley? |

My cheese! You star
I used to commute from Bromley to Borough High Street; an hour should be fine fine superfine. Anyway, the Pratts Bottom Brigade will wait for you if necessary |

So let me get this straight...
yous London types will be meeting up at Borough market and quaffing tripple skinny mocha frappe lappe ramalama ding dongs (or whater you city lot drink ) then heading off to Pratts bottom to meet some out of towners and then heading off to Brenchley and the pub know as 'The Halfway House' where us proper people will meet you and laugh at your funny accents ETA at the pub being 12pm is this correct? or are you know going to give me a load of old flannel about meeting up at a completley different pub 20 miles away just to put me off the scent and thus aviod being ridiculed because of your funny city type accents |

Great. I'll be at Monmouth at 9am.
(On weekends there's a also free car park for the market where you can leave bikes. To get there: ride slowly past Monmouth Coffee (i.e. Monmouth is on your LHS) on Stoney St; on the RHS, once you've gone past Black and Blue restaurant - noticable because it's got lifesize painted model cows outside - and before you get to Winchester Walk there's a right turn into the market car park. There's usually a sign indicating it. Turn in past the rubbish compactor and it opens out into a car park) |

It all depends on how many yuppies get up early and fill up the car park with Range Rovers ;0) I've never actually been to the market as horribly early as 9am, but I often find a space there in the middle of the afternoon.
Another place where people usually manage to park a few bikes is at the very beginning of Stoney St, between Brindisa tapas bar and Elsey & Bent greengrocers, against the wall. There's also an official bike parking bay v. near the market. It's on a short one way street running from Borough High St to Southwark St. To get to the bay, you need to be going north up BHS from the direction of Borough tube station. Go past the Sainsburys local on LHS, and past the junction of Union St on LHS, then the bay is on the next left turn, which is immediately before the Slug & Lettuce pub. From that bay to the beginning of Stoney St is a 20yd walk. The road it's on is too small to be named, but it's in white and marked with a red arrow on this map http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=532250&y=180250&z=110&sv=532250,180250&st=4&ar=N&mapp=newmap.srf&searchp=newsearch.srf&lm=0 |
