dammit. and to think that i spent most of the day marking undergraduate dissertations

Can't be worse than my weekend, where I ended up watching someone I previously thought had half a brain suddenly dedicating themselves to the Lord and telling me I was an awful sinner.

I wouldn't have minded but I already knew I was an awful sinner and the necessity of travelling 200 miles to hear it escapes me.

I could, for instance, have sat on my sinful arse on my sinful sofa at my devil worshipping homestead, thinking of extra sinful ways to spend my time.

I've spent the better part of the last 12 hours trying to figure out how to convert my LX50 into an LX150 without it costing as much as a new LX150 (a thread on MV started this thought process). Unfortunately, I'm not a mechanic. Sucktastic. Days spent indoors on fruitless and/or boring pursuits.

if that's heaven, then i can't imagine what hell must be like. having to sit through all the auditions for X-Factor followed by an evening of hot hot lurve with Simon Cowell while Sharon Osborne looks on and offers comments. that might come close.

either that or needing the loo really badly and having to make my way through a football-field sized room full of shirtless sweaty clubbers pumping their fists to house music at 150Db in order to find it. oh wait i've done that.

And Hell is Argos on Christmas Eve at 11.45 and they havn't got the Epilady your promised your partner.

Just spent the entire morning washing and polishing the Hornet with Harley Wax and it shines like a pin.

Why don't I join all the other riders out on the road on a Bank Holiday ?
It's because by far the best day to avoid all the show offs and idiots who can't drive or ride who are likely to take each other out.

And anyway Nik is about to arrive with the milk and biscuits.

guys I've been absent and missed a lot,clearly. I'm very lost, really don't know what's going on or what any of you is talking about

I'm procrastinating here, I should be getting a head start on a free lance job I've got but keep staring at the telly's "cash in the attic" (does that count as hell please)

George had yet another puncture yesterday so being a nice girlfriend I offered to go pick le boy up in bloody Charlton. after the usual getting lost near the david beckham academy, I made it an hour later, arse numb, irritated at sea of cars heading to greenwich park.
then have to jump to the pillion seat on velma, which is really uncomfortable, especially if a big man is pilot instead of slim delicate lady Velma is usually accustomed to...
I was knackered and grumpy by the end of it

then today alex went to work on the tube (following arguments about how to ride Velma because I know best), and there's no breakfast, so I have to venture out for eggs and beans if I am to ever survive.

or just crashing my friend's place and eating there.

On a lighter note all your predictions from the tarot reading have come true which is a little worrying but I agree I should look forward to the balance I'm going to enjoy after the dust has settled.

I do hope my "Loops" arrive before the weekend because the Hornet is now looking a little naked with both of its wheels out, the locating plate and the pipe off and it's sitting on its mainstand with the front wheel tucked into a jerry can handle so it doesn't fall over.

cheers, Bill, it wasn't so crap as to speak, had a nice weekend overall, just riding all 65 miles, half of which pillion on Velma arguing with Alex about how he should and shouldn't handle her (bless him) was not a good idea.
and now I feel bad he's on the tube.

next weekend is a tbc, it will depend on my deadline on this work I'm doing at the moment.
if the deadline is extended, I'll join and see you all there.
hopefully George with a new set of boots too

While the Hornet has both wheels removed I've got out the Autosol Metal Polish and I'm polishing the wheel rims and spokes until they gleam.
How sad am I and how much of a life do I need to get ?

Not as sad as me. I had the Vespa frame upside down getting washing and cleaning the underside. Lesson learnt when you hose all the crap out of the mudguard it lands up in the steering bearing race. When it was the right way up I could feel all the grit in the steering! Ended up dropping the fork and having to soak the bearings in WD40 to get all the muck out. Still I've learnt something today - dropping the fork isn't that tricky!
