"This is a track-day - you are not racing. However we recognise that you want to pass the bike in front, and you don't want the bike behind to pass you..." The GP800 wasn't as fast as some bikes in the straight, but was better than most in the corners. Only the knee-down merchants out-cornered it. It seemed to have better brakes than most of the other bikes as well, I was able to brake far later than many. It definitely helped not having gears when rolling on the throttle after a corner, but it didn't help in the straights with the standard variator and rollers. A Mana would have done better I'm sure. MSV http://www.motorsportvision.co.uk/index.asp have only had two scooters at Brands in the last two years - and all three times it was one of mine. WRT another thread, "Scooters are not bicycles!" |

Maver you are my new best friend.
The link you sent me for the Euro breakdown recovery gave me a quote that was both cheaper than the RAC and the AA so I'm going to go with them. Thanks mate. There is a special place in my wallet for you. All I need to do is to commit. A bit like a relationship really. Regards Bill The goatee is off again so my Avatar is now out of date so someone bring a camera on Sunday and yes I don't have one. |

Bill - it's worth ringing your insurer to see what they can do for Euro breakdown. I get mine for circa £45 pa, it covers UK and Europe, and is, I think, with EuroAssistance.

When I've crossed with Eurotunnel I've used their breakdown cover. Cheap, convenient, and unfortunately I've had to use it in anger so I can vouch for the service.
2CV racing: definitely fancy this. I'll run it by Howard - we may be going to France in September and he might feel twice in two months is enough, since he doesn't barge around the continent as often as I do ET4 started this morning after I charged the battery overnight. That's a six-month-old battery in a bike that went unridden for five days in temperate weather. Not happy. |

I did it via the the open transmission because the service manual told me to and I didn't think any better of it. |

Well actually Genie yes I do have your tail but it's still at work as I had to bring two wheels and tyres home with me and it would have had to have gone between my teeth so it's safe and sound in my office.
I'll bring it home tomorrow I promise. Anyway the wheels are back in the Hornet and the repainted exhaust and heat guard will go back on Saturday. Benelli and Huskyteer Thank you for your breakdown advice. I'll keep you posted on who I go for. That's what I like about this place, you ask a question and you get loads of advice. Cheers all Billy-no-scoot Oh Husky I wouldn't worry too much about going to Europe because I should be in Amsterdam in 2 weeks. Le Mans in June, Spa in July then back in October and then Amsterdam again in November for reason I can't talk about but it's not what you are thinking. Can't get enough of Europe. XX |

marc, sounds like a wonderful trip! +1 can't wait to see pictures kam - lucky you the rain cleared up, hope you enjoyed your day of digging. and .... my first ride in the rain with the K61s. they are twitchier on wet paint lines than the Pirellis, but they grip like a mofo in the corners. i barely had to adjust my speed and lean from dry road conditions. |
