Yeah, I've just had two weeks off and am back tomorrow, without the scooter, on the bus, me. Took it in for its MOT on the 9th and got BAAAADD news that's gonna cost me and the parts are not available until the middle of next week.

It's a pisser about the coffee, but then sometimes you got to throw out a rowdy drunk or two, just so everyone else can get on with a decent evening.

i just sat meekly by and let the bot do the dirty work

on to more pleasant topics. boyf and i spent a few hours at a festie in victoria park this afternoon, and were delighted to find this fantastic lo-fi 'wall of death'. it was so rickety that being a spectator was slightly more dangerous than being a performer (all in jeans and t-shirts, no helmets), and all of the bikes looked to have been built in about 1950, but it was amazing. my camera phone really wasn't up to the task of capturing the action so i'm afraid i can't dazzle you with shots of the bikes whizzing by, but these should give you an idea of the scale of the operation

There used to be a wall of death show at le mans every year but alas no more.

It was quite fun to watch the owners grow older year by year but hang on so did I.

I guess I stirred up some interest re: the automotive markets.

The Canadian Govt. also kicked some $26 billion CDN into GM and Chrysler.

Interesting to note as GM was closing plants in the U.S. and Canada last March and whinging for bailouts, they had opened a brand new assembly plant in Moscow.
Go figure.

I think you folks in the E.U. are getting diddled by the global corporatization as well.

We have seen in the last 30 years a battle between big Government and Big Business and guess who won???

was given lovely cards by my lovely kids - and i'm a box of harvey nicks chocolates and a posh pair of socks richer.

life doesn't get much better.

cos' it's fathers' day i'm indulging myself with lots of recreational cigarettes and plenty of red wine.

My GP800 had its stalling problem cured, then it gradually came back, until it was 100% certain it would stall every time I came to a stop.

Then it magically vanished.

All over 4,000 miles in six weeks. I'm glad it now works OK, but pissed off I can't present Piaggio with a solid fault. My gloomy side reckons it'll happen again...

Humbug.

And that's the reason I don't go camping but I do admire those that do.

I do camping - and share bedrooms (and even beds) to keep costs reasonable. I don't care a jot about my surroundings when unconscious, so why worry about them when compos mentis? (sp?)

you really should give sleeping in a tent another go bill.....

staying up till silly o'clock talking bollocks under the influence then waking up in the morning to all that fresh air 8)

and as for clean toilets and showers, that's what tesco's and sports centres are for

But I've gone so far down the not camping or drinking route I'm not sure that I can come back.

The last time I drank it was a complete disaster and camping may well end up the same but the Bikers Lodge now that had something going for it.

Just stayed at the Biker's Loft and the news on the drinks prices is dire. It is now Very Expensive, rather than Quite Cheap. Plus their booking system might rob you of your deposit twice.
