Modern Vespa

As a new rider, I'm been looking for opportunities to get my GTS out on the road with a group of scooter fans - but I haven't noticed any rides here scheduled in the NYC area.

Anyone know of any upcoming rides in this area, or a scooter club that organizes such things in NYC?

For now, I'm trying hard to just keep my enthusiasm in check and my GTS in the neighborhood - moving it only really to avoid parking issues (i.e. the street cleaning), as my road test is scheduled for 3 weeks from now. But I wonder if I could do a group ride before then - since then I could have a supervised ride with someone else in the group with my motorcycle learners permit.

Not the best time of year to have a new scooter I suppose, but the deals now seemed much better than in spring or summer
