We love our 3 wheeled funky scoots, that's why we're here sharing. Was wondering IF you've named yours?

My scooter is not "funky". It's a throbbing testosterone delivery device, which agressively eats up miles of pavement every day. That's why it is named "The Asphalt Ape".

There has been a huge thread on this topic before.
but yes, mine is "Brutto" and my wife's is ' Bubbles'.

I can't figure out what my scoot's name is....My scoot is not exactly a throbbing asphalt ape, but that's a good one....Bubbles and Brutto is fitting....

I don't want to refer to her as Beasty Baby all of her life and Honolulu Hula Lu is not it, either...It'll come to me.

What about you SKY....is Sky it's name, too?

It's a bloody bike, not a ship - it (not 'he' or 'she') doesn't need a name! Why do you lot all anthropomorphise your rides?

I couldn't find that previous discussion of scooter names...I got tired after nine pages...Wonder what that titled like...hmmm

So is it safe to say JimC's bike is called Grumpy?

I call mine "The Beast". Not original, I know, but it just seemed to fit the day I got her home. The second day out a guy on a Stella said, "That thing looks like a feral beast." I knew my choice had been apt.

"The Beast" is fine. "Beast" wouldn't be in my book. Or "Doris" etc - but I do admit my X9 500 had been named by a previous owner and was/is always known as "Umfaan" (Little One, he had an 1150RT as well) by others. Not a 'name' as such.

I thought about this when I had my Dark Cherry MP3 250, but no name ever made itself known to me.

With my Midnight Blue MP3 400, however, the name "The Blue Beast" came up out of nowhere and settled itself on the heretofore inanimate machine.

I couldn't help it.

Anyway, it's not anthropomorphized, as that would be acting as if it were human. Maybe it's biomorphized.

JimC, my wife always names everything, I have just gotten
used to it.
Besides, I always thought "Brutto and Bubbles Fuoco" sounded
like a lovely Italian-American mobster couple.

In response to people thinking it always stands up and won't fall over, I named mine Ilene.

I never named a vehicle I owned. Never even named my boat when I had it. Everything is just "Come On Baby". Used that a lot when I was climbing really BIG hills on the ATV.

Don't anthropomorphize the MP3. It doesn't like it.

Funny, I have had a name for my MP3 since about April. Even though I still don't have one. It came to me in a flash while sitting on a balcony on Esplanade Ave.(just outside the French Quarter) on my first time ever in New Orleans. I'm not willing to share what that is though, until I actually own one.

I've never named a vehicle; but a friend started calling me Terry the toad when I got it so I started calling it toad.

now that this thread got me thinking, i will call it Modo. short for quasimodo.

Sorry Dutchman, but when I started this thread I wasn't interested in what the general vespa forum named their scoots.....only wanted to know what "WE" MP3 scooter's named ours. I never saw a thread on naming your MP3. It is obvious that you do not have a name for yours, so.....to each his/her own (as the saying goes). So sit back and enjoy the silly names we attach to "things" we love.....and most of all.......

I tend to name things after either country songs (Jolene, my old Nissan truck and Lucille, my Pontiac) or old rock and roll songs (Peggy Sue, my MP3 400).

My MP3 is named Bolt

My current Fuocco is named Vader. My neighbour thought i was a bit weird when i introduced Vader to her car, which didn't have a name

So does that mean your Fuoco is picking up strangers? Or I guess it would be speed dating

Well today another name came to me. I was thinking about one of my favorite TV shows of childhood when it connected in my mind with the color of my MP3.

So "Captain Midnight" it is!

Seems to make sense since its black, safe, intelligently designed, well executed, and gives me a sense of confidence that I will arrive at my destination without incident.

sorry to go off topic for a second, but for an outsider watching the US polls, i find Mr. Obama to be very honest and capable, and looks able and ready to lead the country. I like him and if I'm an American I will definitely vote for him.

It's black, hard to pin down, likes to make sharp turns to avoid danger, is fairly new at running, people are unsure of what it is made of, and has never traveled abroad except when it was born.

But I gotta say we didn't hear anything from the Green party (hybrid) although I keep hearing it is right around the corner.

Actually, that brings up an interesting thought. Anyone think we might get the MP3 HyS in a green color?
