I have a 2007 MP3 250 with 3000 miles. There is a mild rattle at idle. Dealer says there could be a flat spot on one of the rollers. Anyone elses scoot rattle? Can a roller wear out so early?

Thanks in advance,

Dennis

Probably is the clutch.. Crying or Very sad emoticonI have had 2 replaced and ready for a 3rd..The pads are still good but everything else wears out..I changed my spark plug today and the bike purrs..It wasn't the clutch after all.. Laughing emoticon

Just 'cos you've earned your third!

Yes, rollers can rattle at idle.

I haven't noticed any decrease in performance. As soon as I give is some gas it goes away. Dealer said not to worry about it.....?

Roller weight rattling is very common at idle on conventional variators. It doesn't necessarily mean that they are worn and it's most certainly not hurting anything.... it's just annoying. Aftermerket Dr Pulley weights or the non-conventional J Costa variator is a great way to reduce or eliminate that noise.
