Hey guys,
I have a fly 150 and some asshole pushed it over with his car while it was parked... it was laying on its side and when i picked it up it wouldn't start.
I immediately opened the engine compartment under the seat and removed the evaporator hose from the carburetor and some fuel came out of it, and it still wont start. please help!!
thanks
Dani

You have probably soaked your air filter with gas. You might need to open up the air filter, black box on the L side of your scooter visible from the side and squeeze out the excess fuel.

I removed the little nipple on the air filter box and fuel + oily mixture came out and no it starts up nicely.
Thanks a ton.

You should still clean out and re-oil the filter to prevent further problems.

You might want to consider changing the oil as well.

If gas pooled enough to flood your carb and air-box, then you likely have fuel in the oil as well (gets past the piston rings).

Any raw gas in your engine oil can cause corrosion inside the crank-case and lead to a breakdown.

It's not cheap, but it is fast and it costs alot less than a new engine.

Nah, i didn't see anything... a security guard called my office to tell me that he found my scooter on its side.

I will change my oil in a month or so when i get it serviced by vespa.. (i don't know how to do it myself).

Since this happened I think the Bike it starting up much better than it was before!! Which leads me to conclude that there was a little fuel in the Air Filter before it got knocked down.

Thanks everyone for your help and thanks Liz for coming by. There are some extraordinarily good people on MV
