Has anyone here found a good quality stainless steel flagpole which is tall enough to be noticeable in traffic? I'd like one which can fold down so my scooter cover will fit over it. Haven't been too lucky finding what I am looking for. I've looked at marine flagpoles but they are generally too wide in diameter and I can't find the right mount which will fit onto the seat rail. Any ideas?

*Added* I've seen some of the little 18" motorcycle flag poles ... but they just won't be seen in traffic and the point is to be seen rather than patriotic!

Any bicycle shop should have a variety that clamps on to steel tubing or onto a bolt/screw. Fold-down option shouldn't be impossible to figure out, if it's not integral to design.

I should also say that in the BVI, we have NO bike/scooter shops of any kind. I have to do all my shopping on the internet.

Hmmm, now that would work ... except what to do about the scooter cover?

Google keywords...bicycle flags
Too much to link to, and you know what you're looking for.

Flagpole
Put a small hole in the cover for the pole to fit through. If the pole is small enough you could use a grommet, otherwise stitch (or melt) around the hole so it does not fray.

Also, you could set it up so that the antenna easily screws off of the base for quick removal...

1/2" bolt and mine unscrews..
Off now because I am trying to cut down on wind resistance, plus I have the mast cut down to 2 feet.
With the spring loaded base I can tuck it under throttle when I cover it at night...
