same for engine oil... i been riding for decades and have friends who use walmart oil in there scooter, sport bikes and bmw's and have never had an engine issue or an engine blowing up because of the oil...

I was curious about the hi-flo filter and saw this advertised about there product ...

the buzz words ... "meet or exceed OE specs"! so should 't i feel comfortable ordering these for the 300 ?

Jim does a ton of mileage and uses these filters so without any issues so aren't we getting a little paranoid over the whole filter thing ?

another fact someone brought up was "there have been no known engine break-downs becuase of a filter ... has anyone heard otherwise ??

In my dotage, I've decided I don't know everything. In fact, sometimes I'm convinced I know nothing.

Since I've trusted Piaggio enough to buy a Vespa I'll trust them to tell me what spec oil to use in it. If it costs me a couple bucks more for peace of mind, so be it. I've wasted my money on worse.

Harvey i think you missed the point.... if the product says its meets the manufacturer's criteria and it happens to be made by walmart of Hiflo the product should not have an adverse effect providing the product is used according to the manufacture's schedule....
