Hmmm...couldn't quite understand all the ragging on the GTS and problems that people have had. Mine has been fine. Figured I got a good one. One made on a Tuesday or Wednesday and not on a Friday afternoon. On the weekends, that's all I drive. Not a lick of problems...that is until yesterday.

I was exiting a shopping center parking lot and came to a stop in the parking lot where the parking lanes exit to the access through way. When I came to a full and complete stop, the bike made a single "click" sound and the engine died. "Oh, shoot!", I thought.

Lots of traffic right there as it was next to a brand new Sonic fast-food joint. Cars everywhere! They even had bell-hops directing traffic. I envisioned my embarrassment at having to push my bike out of the way until...well, just until I could figure out what to do next. I expected to have to pop the lid, remove the pet carrier (with all my groceries) and hunt around for the spark plug wire and re-attach it, or so my thinking went.

But, I decided to try to start the bike...and it fired right up. From then on back home, the bike functioned normally. Now, what do you suppose caused the "click" and the engine to die? (That's a rhetorical question to which I don't really expect an answer.)

Still a fairly new bike. Just slightly over two months old and about 1,000-1,200 miles on the odometer. We'll see how it behaves in the future.

Two ounces of Sea Foam in a tank of gas will fix that

Once every blue full moon, mine would do the same when stopping at a light.

Mine was made on a Friday or a Monday.

Good luck

That happens to me from time to time. Always just as I'd released the throttle to idle - and always makes that characteristic "clack" sound it always makes when I shut it off deliberately. Always starts right back up. Last time I managed to restart on the roll, with just enough brake to turn on the brake light.

Everytime I have a quitting issue with either my LXV or GTV it has always been attributed to the evaporator system. I can be on a long ride and then get back into town and it'll just quit at the stop light or I fill up at the pump to the first click of the nozzle and she won't start.

All I do is pull the hose from the carb on the LXV or the hose from the cannister on the GTV and they start back up everytime. Why I do not leave them off is beyond me. Maybe it is because it is easy to pull the line if there is an issue and then plug them back in when the issue seems to have corrected itself.

These small tricks learned from the forum have saved me a lot of heartache when I am a long way from home.

My wife and I both had a problem with our GTSs intermittantly dieing at stop lights. I did an internet search and found a recommendation to reset the computer. You disconnect the battery for ten minutes. Then reconnect it and let the scooter idle for ten minutes. It stopped the problem on both our scooters. The problem didn't return until the batteries were disconnected for repairs. Then the problem reappeared. I tried the procedure again and the problem went away again.
