really dumb question. a friend just picked up an orange rally, the standard paint scheme with the white stripes. the legshield badge says "vespa gt."

why would it be badged like this? it's obviously a rally, i even checked the vins.

i am confused.

Probably because someone replaced it while restoring, or just decided to change the legshield badge.

No confusion required.

The GT was like a Rally 125cc. You might double check the VIN# for model information.

Not so much.

The GTR was like a rally 125, in that it had a 3-port engine ... The GT was basically a 125cc 10" wheeled Sprint.

but the TS125 was the REAL Rally 125, in that it actually used Rally 200 sidepanels, had the front glovebox. It was effectively a Rally 200 with points ignition and a 125cc engine.

Agreed. I didn't know how familiar the OP was with the models. My advice still stands to check the VIN#.
