Modern Vespa

Hi,
I have been lurking on MV for few days now and found it a good site for gathering info. I have been tempted to reply to a few posts recently but thought it may be bad form without first introducing myself. So here I am. A complete and utter newbie. I am from the UK (Essex / London) and I recently bought my first ever form of transport (at 31 years of age!) and it is a Vespa Lx125 in midnight blue.
Anyway no need to reply, now I have introduced myself I may just reply to a thread.

if you can stand to read the 62-page threads that it usually takes for us to choose a date and location, please feel free to join us on our next ukmv ride out for lunch (the next one is in mid-november, weather permitting).

I did notice the London ride-out thread. And it was quite nice to see, because after my recent lurkings on the site, I was starting to think UK'ers were in the minority. Actually I visited the Natural History Museum with my kiddies today and we walked a little way through central London and it was great to see lots of modern vespas, my kids were pointing and waving at anyone who was riding 'daddys scooter'

we're growing in number. we're still extraordinarily bad at organizing events of any kind, but i think we deserve a few points for trying

do come and join us, I'm a poor little 50cc from NW London and I'll ride ALLLLLLL the way to Kent with these peeps so you if you're in Essex and on an 125 you have no excuses!

I would be more than a little bit happy about joining some fellow Londoners on a ride-out. But my calender is generally ruled by work and the kiddies. (so really quite busy) I will read the thread and follow the thread and discussion with interest.

I wont make any excuses. I would love to come, just dont want to make promises and then the missus tells me I have to do something boring like attend a family wedding (etc. )

Genie and I are the closest to you probably! I'm in Wanstead and she's in Hackney. We did an Essex ride out in the summer (if getting drenched is what you can call summer!) You could always meet up with one of us en route to meeting with the others.

nice choice I love the colour I dont think the websie and brochures do the midnight blue justice when you see it for real it looks awesome
