Folks - do NOT buy an F1 shield from Marcel July. Sorry to say, but this man is a con man - selling crappy Arcrylic shields that are NOT DOT certified.

He has taken money from many of us without delivering what we were told.

This guy needs to be shut down - he is dishonest !

For your own safety - do NOT buy an F1 shield.

OEM....
Call me Fickle but I have always liked the idea of the Support Rods that come with the OEM Medium and Tall Windshields versus AM windshields that have no supports other than Mounting holes.

You're new to the forum, but before the wave of protest comes in...the above isn't true. The Givi AM screen(which I have on my 500) is outstanding. It has two solid steel mounting support arms and a middle solid steel support bracket for the bottom. It is all held on by these which are attached to the chassis. I bought it cos I like the looks of it and because its around half to 3/4 of the cost of the OEM with a larger coverage.

As for the F1, I agree...DO NOT BUY FROM THIS GUY!! I'm glad that I didn't and I came awfully close too! Thank goodness for lucky being on my side and me not having the extra cash lying around for a screen during those days!

My Bad... It was for the 250/400 models that I found that there aren't many with the supports such as the Givi. Not knocking the AM screens but found OEM did have what I am used to from the days of riding MCs. The Givi for the 500 does show the supports and is one I would consider IF they would have shown supports in the 400 but none were showing in the ones I looked at throughout the Net. I hope I didn't offend tooo many of you out there.

I can't speak for the Givi screen but I have a Fabbri on my 400 that has been absolutely fine - stable, rigid, no flexing at all. It's a tall that I have cut down 5", making it 3" taller than the medium.

Todays windshields be they OEM or AM probably have come a long way since the late 80's and early 90's from when I had a couple of friends with different windshields Crack on them (once with me riding) but once supports were put in place they no longer had any problems. They were on older MCs obviously. I guess the old saying of "Once bitten, Twice shy" would apply to my experience. There are many threads that did make me think on exactly what I wanted to get in a windshield. But one which may be a fluke (or a one off) was one on the Givi on a MP3 250: https://modernvespa.com/forum/topic37605 All in all I guess it all boils down to the individual. I can't say it enough times though of ALL the help this forum has been to keep my choices informed ones..... Cheers to all who share their experiences, opinions and best of all show tolerance with us newbies (former Lurkers)!!!

Marcel's F1 Screens
I have to make sure absolutely not order from this guy. He does not know about DOT certified, and he has tried to mess be over with extra charges on my CC without my permission.

This guy has 2 LLC's and he thinks he can get away with charging this and that especially making charges from his 2 company LLC's, like F1 Marcel July, and also " Sign Masters LLC" which I was told by Discover over the phone.

Be extremely careful of this PLEASE. Dont get ripped off like I have, he does not know that VISA, Mastercard, and Discover know of his overcharging from different company's, and they are working to stop him in his tracks. All they need to know is from everyone, who has been charged by F1 marcel July, and also SIGN Masters LLC, double charges, and his holding of CC companies and personal CC #'s way after a sell.

He is no good, and thinks he can fly off to europe to elope from paying attn from customers that made complaints.

I have received reports of this guy sending someone else's card number to the creditors and making false charges, even statements. I personally received his letters to the CC companies with someone else's claim on them.

My greatest result is me having the experience of looking online at my statements, and making a phone call, to stop this person.

It also is interesting is I personally flew to Florida and also Arizona to hire a helicopoter and fly over his supposedly plants, and have not seen a wind tunnel, but I have seen a few MP3 500'd outside a hanger size building and the ability to fly a low ceiling and snapshot photos, then sending these to my CC companies for proof against his claims, and they agree to serve him notice NOT to charge a persons CC account without tracking #'s to trace a shipment, even valid or not.

This is my 2 cents worth
Be wary of someone who claims something and cannot produce. Now, my claims against him go back to September of 2008, and beyond.

No not really, I am a jet engine student who now flys solo on his training, adding hours for his flight logs, and did not cost me a cent!

Using Boing jets, and others was a permissable thing for me to do since my father was a Test Pilot for the Navy, and flew for over 30 years, and had over 500 aircraft licenses in his wallet + over 7K catapults, and tailhook landings in his career on carriers!

Now I am getting the training for free cause of my father.

Now the cost of the fraud charges are free cause i use toll free numbers, and I am a guy with action speaks louder than words.

I have gone to Modern Vespa and have asked they revoke him from MV for his false claims

I apologise for this, but someone has to stand up and do something about it. This is not a joke, friends of MV, its a hardline statement. I dont want people to get ripped off, because y'all and I love our scoots tremendously.

Could you post some of your pics taken from the copter? That would be cool to see.

I am so sorry but these remain the possession of my CC company, for proof, and I deleted the memory cards.

Not to get off the subject, but we are here to make ideas come to frutation or warnings about things. My dad did the Korea thing, as well as leading the 1st thru many arial assults on N. Vietman, and I believe we are here to discuss things on our scooters, to make warnings known, to promote great things for our scoots, and discuss things that make us happy about our scootering and not military things. I was just making a valid thing valid!

thank you anyway.

Just wanted to throw a ditto on Jerry's comment. I still love my F1 also. I've had it up to about 80+ and the wind control is very good. Been in some pretty good crosswinds and it seems to do ok with that too. Had to slam on brakes very hard for idiot cagers and not once has face met screen - well once when I forgot and bent over while seated to diddle the gas cover open! Wonder what the current status on these are...

You have a 500, that's only the difference. But for the 250's and 400, they are set up differently. But am glad your 500 runs good with your F1. I explained to Marcel over the phone that for one, their are only 4 small holes and without the size holes required for the 250 and I have heard too about the 400 as well set up the same way. But I have not heard about a 400 and how they fit.

But with my '07 250, there are 6 holes, 4 large on the sides for grommets, and the two bottom to anchor correctly to the body of the front without metal supports, but the shield interrupted turning the wheels to lock it, the shield also had problems with the mirrors banging into the screen, so I was afraid to even test it on the road. What if I made a turn, and crashed because I am used to tight turns and could not?

> I also apologize for Marcel that he did not take this into account. I returned the screen exactly the way it was packed, and I was only reimbursed for the screen and not the shipping. It cost me more to ship back to him with a great amt. of insurance. Since then, he has been tring to charge my CC again and again for products not shiped, and no proof of shipping labels plus charge from two separate accts.

This is not the way to treat a customer at all. They had to go back to 2008, and retrace the actions of product shipped, and he could not prove anything.

Another letter was sent certified mail recently, and they told me they charged his acct for products not shipped plus I provided them with his websites, and Utube as well. Utube only shows a 500 model, and not the other models.

I have asked the moderators and owners of MV to refuse his status as a member, and waiting patiently for a response to these items.

Yippee for the 500's. I am happy that everything worked out, but my intent is punitive, and not resentful, like his other hosted websites as well. And I apologise for the yandering on, but as they say, "Buyers Beware!"

Marcel's F1 & Evolution II Screens
Just want to say I am happy that my vespa dealership has contacted Piaggio and I will be receivng the OEM Style # 654140 "Style Windscreen", with methacrylate anti-impact & anti-scratch & 4mm thick, so on the ends of the screen I can put on my pair of Saeng?TA Quick Scan Mirrors so I will not have any blindspots with the Ducati touring LED Mirrors replacing the original stock mirrors as well.

Thanks and apologize for rambling on.

Bubbajon and his "mancrush" Marcel
Dude, all of your love for Marcel is a little curious??? Either you really like the product and drank all of marcel's kool-aid or Marcel gave you a product for free as long as you boast about it on the web....

Marcel hasn't raced a bike profesionally anywhere or any time! Please fell free to prove that he has. And saying that he told you doesn't count. Come on it's time for some real evidence.

Marcel hasn't hired any employees ever! His son, his wife and himself are the only employees! This is a hack shop at best. (and not the sidecar kind)

He tried to peddel his crap to the BMW crowd but they weren't stupid enough to fall for his BS. Please notice that he doesn't claim to make product for BMW's any more???? He tried.

Marcel's wind tunnel consists of a floor mounted truss fan and a fog machine. Ohhhh that is so sophisticated!!!

On his cheesy web site he attempted to attach an idemnification clause to the product through advetising but his grammer is so bad you almost can't tell that he is trying to say his products are not suitable for road use.

Come on people, enough of you are making the same complaints as on the Spider forum, BMW Sport touring.... now this one? But Marcel continues on with his lone beacon of light called Bubbajon....

Fess up Bubbajon. What is your real motivation?

He has been banned from 2 of the 3 BMW sites. How about you guys shut him down too? Or drink the kool-aid
