Hey Gang!

Sorry to drum up this old thread but it just so happens I may be making an offer on this scooter.

This will be my first Vespa and I'l be using her for some commuting, weekend jaunts and light touring: Any inspection advice is appreciated!

Thanks!

The bike is here in Southern California now - The guy that bought it in Florida moved here a few years ago.

I'd try to get the full story on what it is before buying.
Looks like a P and a PX got drunk and had an ugly baby.

LOL! Laughing emoticon

Although I don't think it's ugly...

The current owner has all the receipts and is trying to dig up the restorer's contact info.

It's a 1981 P200E with the PX head, forks, disc setup etc.

The engine/gearbox rebuild is all stock except for a Sito muffler and an upjet tuned for sea level in Florida - Not sure of the sizes until I can get my eyes on the paperwork and/or visual inspection.

Body was taken down to bare metal, prepped and fully powder coated.

About 2000 trouble-free miles on her since the 2008 restore, some in Florida and a lot in the deserts of Southern California so it would seem all was done correctly... Popcorn emoticon

Current owner says she pulls fine right up to 62-65 mph and plugs have always looked good (mostly commutes and short hops and runs a NGK B7ES).

That's all I have for now... I'll keep you posted... She may be mine Wednesday...

Since you're a good sport, I'll keep picking on you:

Lady gets on a bus with her baby. Driver says, "Sorry, lady, but that's the ugliest baby I ever seen!"

Lady stomps off in a huff and sits down. Old man next to her says, "What's wrong, dear?"

Lady: "That driver! I've never been so insulted in my life!"

Old man: "It's a free country, dear. Go back and tell him off. Here, I'll hold your monkey."[/quote]

The start wheels can be found on any Stella. I am the type of person that thinks that the front start wheel of a vespa with a different rear hub looks kind of silly but hey.. I have a 2005 Vespa PX that looks like that so...
