I'm trying to decide which leg apron to get for winter commuting. From what I can gather, Tucano Urbano is the standard in Europe and benefits from capturing warm air from the engine vents on the GTs and has inflatable parts that prevent flapping. Downsides are that it has a lot of straps that don't look very good, and it's tough to get a hold of them in the US. The Vespa OEM Magno Hot Cover has a magnet system for attaching to the scooter, so it isn't as messy but may or may not captures the engine heat and doesn't have inflatable parts, so may flap in the wind a bit more.

Does anyone have additional insight they could share?

I can't give an opinion since I have yet to use it, But I just received my Tucano Urbano skirt this morning. I ordered it from a UK site (scootercrazy.com) for just over 200$ & received it in less than a week. Great service in my opinion. The Vespa is in the shop or I'd slap it on right now & give you an review.

I have used the Termoscud on my GT 200 for the past two years and it really works great. As I recall it fastens to the knee kick panels with the original screws and then has 4 straps with hooks. Two go underneath and are virtually invisible and two go low on the front and attach to the opening by the air intake behind the front wheel and are a little more visible but not really bad looking. What I like about it is that it can be rolled up on both sides and secured with ties that are attached so it is out of the way if you don't need it. Some times it is really cold in the morning when I leave and pretty warm in the afternoon when I come back so I just use it in the morning. The most amazing thing is that you get it in 3 to 4 days from Italy. Some times things I order from across the country take 10 to 14 days! It is sort of annoying that the shipping is more than the apron but it does arrive really quickly. The heat from the scooter's radiator is a real plus on cold days. It is a very high quality item and I highly recommend it. Here in California I will probably be putting it on the scooter in a few short weeks. It doesn't interfere with your legs at stops at all and doesn't flap at highway speeds either. Hope this is a help to you.
