I just put on a tall wind shield on my GTS 250 and ended with my left mirror whistleing around 45mph. I guess it was probably there before I put the wind shield on, but didn't notice due to all the wind noise. I have moved and moved and moved the mirror (and mirror stem) and still to no avail. And why is it only the left and not the right??

there was a fix to this a few weeks back. Hopefully someone will chime in as I can't remember. A buddy of mine put pieces of tape on his roof rack to stop the "tuning fork" effect.

I know how to stop an elephant from charging.

Maybe the windshield is whistling? Maybe the windshield is directing air to the mirror? Try putting something in between the mirror and the windshield, or tying a rag or towel around the mirror for a short distance to see if it still whistles. I don't know, don't endanger yourself, but see if it's actually the mirror, which I assume is the easiest thing to fix.

Our mirror whistles on our SUV. We hardly ever drive it, but when we do it whistles.

I would leave that whistle alone...
There are so many car-deer accidents up here in Michigan, we regularly put deer whistles on our cars and trucks....
I hit a deer on the freeway going 70, in the dark, did $6500 in damage to my wife's car...
A Harley rider and his wife died, after hitting a year ago...
