And NO Alcohol! (The gas). Went to visit an aunt who I had not seen since 1977. She is 82 and drives her Buick everyday. She is very active and said when she dies she wants to go out wiggling. Great attitude.

OK is beautiful country. The state capitol building has a friggin' oil rig in the front yard. Saw the Oklahoma Memorial on the site of that tragic bombing in 1995. Very moving exhibit. Hard to swallow on the way out. Ate dinner in Mickey Mantle's restaurant. Had lunch in a Bar-B-Cue owned by the former chef to Elvis. Saw the Cowboy and Western Museum, the Railroad Museum, the Science Center and the OK Zoo. All great places to visit. Went to a big Outfitter's place. Can't remember the name, but has a big fish in the sign. Huge store for camping and fishing equipment. We could have spent another week going to different attractions and still miss a whole bunch.

Drove on historic Rt 66 for a few hours. Great memories of traveling with my folks back in the '50's

Our rental car was a Chevy Aveo (?) that was bright yellow. Built in Korea. It was ok, nothing I would own, but basic transportation on the cheap.

Fantastic flights both ways on Southwest Airlines, my favorite.

OK, back to the real world. Wow, look at all the new threads in a week!

OKlahoma does have many things going for it.
Sounds like you hit a multitude of the sites.
I guess since you ate at Mickey's you saw the Canal and all the development in downtown/bricktown?

Yes, Bricktown is great. It was dead during the day but like New Orleans at night. A bit cool for the water taxi. They weren't running. Lots of good stuff to eat, see and do.
