I rode to the polls and voted. #19 in line at 6:45am. Looks to be pretty heavy turnout this year.

I voted absentee.
In typical Appalachian fashion I dropped my ballot into a trash can with a slot cut in the lid at the courthouse. |

We sent our ballots by air courier, and are watching it make it's way to our county elections office via on line tracking. Kinda like the TV stations tracking Santa's sleigh on radar.
We went out to a neighborhood pasta place last night. The US election was the lead story on the evening TV news. About 15 mins worth! (Folks here seem to have longer attention spans when it comes to TV news.) Obviously, the folks in the restaurant had a pile of questions about our process, etc. They were amazed that we could vote by mail. Whatever the outcome, we hope for the best for our native land and its people. A&A |

I used the etch-a-scetch voting machine again today. It's a ridiculous looking little thing but my vote is all counted....YAY. Now for the next phase and then peace from political ads in KY until 2010. Oh and I did manage to get that shot of my scooter in front of the polling place. I had to park in the lot though instead of the sidewalk, the sheriff's deputy was there...
Post voting and it took a while to get this shot. Everyone at the polls wanted to ask me about my ride including the sheriff's deputy.

I voted for the Vespa.
I think my local elections are more important since those people actually have a bigger effect on what happens where I live. And its a great place to live Harv |

Bummer! Can't take the scooter to vote. Just got a call from my wife and she wants me to take her to the polls to vote. Must be something about this particular election? She's been in this country for about 25 years now and said that this is the first time she's ever voted and didn't know how to do it. Since she won't get on the scooter, nor does she have a helmet, looks like I'll have to drive the car tonight when I go to vote.

I rode my GT to vote, even though my poll was only about 5 blocks away. I was afraid it would take forever and I'd have to head straight for work, but it only took about 20 minutes.

I didn't ride, I walked. The polling place is not far from my house, so me, the Wife, and the dog all got to take a walk together on a nice day.
Maybe I would have ridden if all of us could have fit on the scooter. It's all good, I ride everywhere else anyway. PS: No, the dog did not vote. |

I rode to the polls and waited 30-40 minutes in the rain. I've never had to wait to vote, it's a nice change. Of course by the time I got to work I was soaked through.

I rode my GT200 to vote, and could park within 10 feet of the door - now there is a benefit to scooting!

I rode my GT to the polling place this morning on my way to work. Got there at 6:40 and was the third in line. The doors opened at 7:00 and I was done voting and out the door by 7:10.
Now just wait 'till this evening for the champagne or the tears, depending. (I'm betting on the champagne) |

I rode my scoot and dropped my ballot off on Sunday at the Registrar's office--I know, open all weekend?! They even had a drive-thru window, though it said "automobiles only" .
No one was there except for an old couple in a vintage'70s Mercedes convertible that parked next to me. The man tipped his hat to me as he got out of his car with a spring in his step. BTW, he was wearing a brown jumpsuit/leisure suit with a built-in belt, just like the one that Mr. Roper wore. Cheers! --Kevin |

Probably the one time I will never ride my scoot. Too many crazys making illegal and unsignalled u-turns, blasting in and out of the driveway. I can see why the death stats are up on election day.

Wife and I took the GT to our Polling Place in a major metropolitan area and were in/out in 10 min.
There was a car parked within 100 ft. of the Polling Place door (illegal to campaign within 100' of a Polling Place) which had a 'Curious George' doll propped up in the window. I was going to report it, but couldn't decide which candidate they were actually trying to promote, so I let it slide. |

I did
Rode my GT200 to the polling place about 3 this afternoon. Packed right in front of the door. Only one other voter in there. In and out in a flash.
Been warching the early voting lines all week. Always a line of people waiting in line, maybe 75 people or more. News was reporting one hour waits all week. Had a feeling there would be hardly anyone left for today, and I was right. News tonight said the same is true all over Palm Beach County. No rain, nice temp, perfect day. |
