Hey I'm sure this was covered, but....
1. while on Storrow Drive (local pseudo highway) this morning I hit 63 mph (or something like that) and then my throttle just gave out. Is there a governor on the my fly 150 or is something wrong with it?
2. I was thinking about ordering a kevlar belt on my otherwise stock scooter.. is this wise? do i run any risks?
thanks

Congratulations! According to face mechanic that's a feat in itself (LX150 question).

ehh.... essecntially you can "de restrict" an LX150... they are not restricted... they do have a rev limiter built into the cdi box, but its pretty high, and hard to hit on a stock bike...

anyway... what i think your looking for is ways to make it faster right?

malossi 190cc topend kit
malossi/polini perfomance variator
kevlar belt
pm tunning exhaust
malossi delta clutch / polini speed clutch...

let me know if any of that helped

I do not know what that was but I do not think it was the Rev limiter either..
I can cruise at 65+ actual with no problems...
I hit 70 something and I felt the limiter once... ( actual, I was watching speedo on car next to me..)
The limiter feels more like the engine misfiring not cuting out...

Sorry, I'm no help, but Storrow on a scoot... Exhilerating!!
Hope it happened at a somewhat friendly traffic hour.

Ooh, ooh, I'm thinking of circuits of Soldiers Field to Leverett Cir and back a few times. Twisties, tunnels, straights, local drivers, lost tourists. There's a race course with real life hazards.

Paperino, Boston ex-pat.

Hummm, I believe (at least on the GTS) it's a hard cut off (The engine doesn't spark). The revs drop (a bit- not like yours to idle) then the engine fires again. The effect is sudden and very noticeable.

Thanks Harvey,
That sounds like that's what happened to me.

but I don't know why it happened at 60 something mph... is it a possibility that my belt is worn down (i only have 1500 miles on the scoot)? Can it have something to do with idle speed (i don't believe so but I'm no mechanic)?

Thanks Everyone

The top speed of the Fly isn't listed, but the LX's is officially 59 mph. I wouldn't be too concerned, but it does seem a bit low Top Speed for LX150.
