Check ou the google map above. I am about 1 hour and 45 minutes north of New York City to give you a reference point. It's really an amazing area with a little bit of everything. The elevation changes and land formations have created many unique environments that are worth the hikes, rides and car trips. We also host many of the reservoirs that provide New York City with their drinking water. The City purchased towns, evacuated them "relocated" their residents and then flooded the towns to create reservoirs. Two of wich are the Round Out Reservoir (former town of Eureka) and the Neversink Reservoir (Former town of Neversink). While the story is kind of sad the protective covenants they have placed on the land surrounding the reservoirs has kept the area pristine and picture perfect in many regards. |

So the town of Neversink is now permanently under water? that is perversely funny. i know relocations are always touchy, but ya gotta laugh a little. Maybe they should have renamed the reservoir Eversunk.
the pics are beautiful, thanks for posting them. |

I am not in need of financing from Piaggio, thank goodness but I have not heard back and I do not anticipate I will with the ammount of time passed since I submitted my application. Its pretty depressing. I have other income that keeps the roof over my head. I really just wanted to do this for the sheer love of scooters and the pure desire to get more up here. The screwed up thing is I've found my self acting as an intermediary between those selling used Vespas and people looking to buy. When ever someone contacts me to buy a scooter, online or at a gas pump, I get their info and send them links to ebay or craigslist scooters so they can find one in the mean time. |
