Probably a really simple answer. I figured the bike doesn't have ABS, so that's not it. If it's for the speedometer, then why two? Anyone?

As the tilt-lock must come off if the bike is doing more than 10kph, the 'brain' has to be very sure that it is getting a speed reading - and speedo sensors do fail. Also it makes the design of each side symmetrical, another plus.
