I have hard time closing the seat of my GTV.
It wont lock easily. I need to try few times and I don't seem to find a system that works 100%.

I spoke to a guy with another GTV and he has the same issue.

I am not sure if the GTS have the same problem.

Is that something common or we are the only 2 that don't know how to close the seat???

any way to fix it??????

Thanks!

They are all quite difficult to close. You just need to press down very firmly in the centre of the pillion seat. You should hear a slight click.

GTV Seat....
The only times I've encountered difficulty closing the seat have been when I've overstuffed the storage carrier underneath. It's usually a windbreaker or some type of cloth material that seems to foul things up, and then I have trouble opening it.

I don't know if you've tried this, but when I close the seat, I lower it so that it sits right on top of the carrier. I then push down firmly and it usually clicks into place. Sort of like the hood of a car.

Ok thanks, glad to know I don't have a faulty seat.

The old ones are much easier to close!

I've greased the catches (mechanism) when I've had that problem on the GTS. Seems to help.

When I picked mine up in May it had a similar problem. I'd had the crash bars installed, and the dealer thought the brackets might have contributed to the problem. Slamming it didn't work. Just close it, and then lean firmly on the back of the back seat until it clicks. Check that nothing under the seat is interfering: the whole perimeter of the pet carrier should be uncovered. Even a layer of fabric or a folded-up cover can be enough to interfere. Over the five months I've had it, the problem has gradually lessened - or I've gotten used to it. At any rate, it closes fine now (even on the retaining straps of a pillion-seat bag, providing I place them carefully) with nothing more than a firm lean.

a little wd40 on the moving mechanism on the lock might help. sometimes they get a little stuck.

I do the same. A while back when I was a lurker, I read of trouble with seats, esp. if you let them fall to close. So when I got my scoot I started the practice of always placing the seat down, then pressing it to hear a faint click to close/lock (It slides a bit into its spot; the hinge doesn't place it perfectly).

Mine closes very easily with no problems. WindyCity has the right idea.

I would use a lithum grease or silicon lube. WD 40 is a penetrating and grease remover. It will do fine at first but soon it will degrease it and your problem could be worse.

Windy city does have the best idea.

I often manage somehow to trip the latch on my GT200's seat without it actually locking. The latch is closed but the seat is open. It won't lock with the latch already tripped.

I don't know what causes this, but it isn't a big problem. Solution: Press the open-seat button again. Then reclose and latch the seat.

silcone grease works best, I have noticed some to the brackets under seat have been bent out and keep it from catching the lock look into that
