Sunday November 9th. Mark your calenders for a fun ride out to Malibu and back. We will leave the shop at 12 Noon for a ride down Mulholland Hwy to the Rock Store. From there we will ride out to PCH and down to Neptunes Net. After stuffing down some seafood, we will ride back PCH to Topanga and back over to the SFV.

reverend wrote: How was the ride today? Sorry I couldn't make it, I was down south for the Apple Ride and the RBSC 2nd Sunday ride! So, yeah, it happens but it sucks that it happened to a member of our group today. Other than that, though... pretty good. We had 15 riders; nice-sized group for this ride. Good route, though there was a lot of dirt, some rocks and other debris on some of those twisties between Rock Shop and the PCH. Everyone was riding a bit slower and more cautiously at that point, though. |

This was her first group outing; she's not a ModernVespa or ModernBuddy member. I've emailed but have her phone and will call her in the next couple of days if I don't hear anything back.

I was on that ride yesterday. First of all I want to acknowledge how great everyone in the group was when the accident occurred. The concern and care she got was fantastic! Some Harley riders also stopped and were immediately calming and soothing her in her dazed state, I'm sure she was in shock, the other members of the group were stopping traffic, others quickly picked up her yamaha and got it out of the street. Lucky for her, a fire truck was coming in the opposite direction. We flagged them down within a minute of the accident occuring and she was being cared for literally 2 minutes after the whole thing happened. Nice folks all around! The fire dept was great and so were all the bikers. I did want to mention though that the only protective gear she had on was a half helmet and gloves. I believe she had on a thin jacket, no armor. Her jeans were torn to shreds and she sustained some injury to her face and shoulders. Toreador Pants people!

I'll post any updates there. http://snurl.com/5acjo |
