Anyone out there know somewhere in San Diego County I can get a homlink garage door opener attached to my MP3? The keychain remotes dont work for me as I would have to have 2 of them, one for my garage door & one for my security gate. I saw a post where the guy did it himself, but thats not an option for me as I am not too mechanically inclined.

You can get the homelink garage opener transmitter from Ebay.com. It is pretty easy to connect them to the power in your scooter. Try to get somebody handy in your local area otherwise I am in Orange county and I might be able to help you with the install.

I don't know if it will ultimately help, but GOOGLED this:
San Diego homelink garage opener transmitter and got several references you could try.... I used double sided tape to hold a small Genie garage door open in that depression where the brake lever rests when down...It's the perfect size to hold that little baby in there....What a huge difference that makes for me...Ahhhh, it's the little things.... ..... Good Luck.... |

Most keychain door openers will open more than one door. I have one that opens up to 3 gates/doors. I got it at home depot.

On my MP3-500, I simply use a keychain remote but on my other bikes I uses this garage door opener from motofx.com. I like the motofx.com GDO on my other bikes mainly because it is more convenient to use on bikes with clutch. I can simply flash the high beam to trigger the garage door.

Velcro is a wonderful product
All I did was get some industrial strength Velcro. If it is wet, I put the opener under the seat when I park.
By the way, yes I know the opener is not straight-I should have repositioned it for my picture. |

Where do you have that set? And you've never had a problem with it bouncing off? |

Has never bounced off
They sell very high strength Velcro made for attaching to rough surfaces. I have never had a problem with it falling off.
It is set in the flat surface just ti the left of the handlebars. You can see part of the speedo I believe in the picture. |
