So on the Italian site for Piaggio the BV Tourer and Cruiser models both have clear tail lights. How could I get one of these stateside? I would like to get it smoked to match my topcase. Any thoughts on how to acquire one and how to get it smoked?

Probably not DOT legal, but neither is tinting your lenses.

Search for tinting here - there are a couple of options, Napacoach has a company he likes on the east coast; I used DIY spray from an autoparts store.

I'd bet because the BV is so rare in the US, that you'd have to buy it in Europe, and get it shipped here. Very little aftermarket goody support for the bigger bikes in the US.

Thanks I was hoping since I could just get the OEM one that is in the pictures on the Italian version of the BV500 Cruiser or BV400 Tourer. I would prefer those over the aftermarket light kits.

Personally I dislike the EU habit of putting clear lenses on. It lowers the contrast of the sidelights and turn signals, and can make them almost impossible to see in bright sunlight.

You probably can, however there will be at least seven hoops, and a rare selection of other challenges in getting it in the country. Although one of our euro members might be able to ask price and availability if you ask nicely.

Well on the BV500 the turn signals are separate and are already smoked slightly. The clear would only be two red driving lights and one brake light. I figured I could lightly smoke it without much risk.

Thanks for the links. That dark scooter looks awesome with the tinted lights.

Can someone pretty pretty please with frosting and sugar and cherries on top see if they could see how much this lens would be? (Is that asking nice enough?)
