Now that I returned the C3 to England because of insurance fears, can anyone recommend a good alternative, I loved the Schuberth quality and fit, and tried to find a leftover DOT C2 but can not find any XL an any color.

Any ideas?

I'm using the Caberg Rhyno and must say it's light for a flip up. padding is comfortable but venting is a little compromised. overall, i'm quite pleased with it.

I've got the Nolan N-103 with an internal visor. I like it but some people find it heavy. Also it's not as long back-to-front as other helmets, adjust accordingly.

I have an HJC symax II. I love it. Tried out the Vemar Jiano and Nolan N103, but neither really fit quite right. The HJC fit great. It is also lighter than the N103.

Shark is due to release a modular with internal visor. It might be pricey.

The HJC is too short-my chin hits
The Nolan fits me, but feels heavy. I understand the new shark is a sort of hybrid and will work as a full or partial face helmet. Unfortunately it is rated the heaviest modular ever tested.

It looks great and I do like the hybrid aspect, so I guess i would consider it even with the weight. I think it is due out in early December-which of course may mean the US will see it in June of next year!

Search for the thread on the Givi modular. It's a great helmet and a true modular, not a flip up.

I also love the Givi X.01. I also have a Shoei Multitech flipup helmet, but have stopped using it since I got the Givi. The ventilation is great, the weight is lighter than any flipup, and the field of view is very wide. Plus, it has the pull down visor.

However, this helmet does not come with a DOT sticker. Is it your health insurance that you are worried about in case of an road accident?

Hey, you could always get an Akuma Electrochromatic Visor. It darkens and lightens with a touch of a button...
