Now that I returned the C3 to England because of insurance fears, can anyone recommend a good alternative, I loved the Schuberth quality and fit, and tried to find a leftover DOT C2 but can not find any XL an any color.

Any ideas?

I'm a little confused on the DOT C-2 thing...Isn't that a rating for reflective tape?

Are you looking online or at local stores?
A lot of people buy online, but since I don't want to mess with fit issues I usually haunt the local motorcycle stores so I can try helmets on and see how they feel and work.

Myself: I've been using a HJC modular for years.

The HJC is great but...
MY chin hits the chin bar on the HJC unfortunately.

Schuberth is a german company that used to have a US distributer. Their last model for the US was a model C@ which had both ECE and DOR approval.

It is an expensive but very well made helmet. I "imported" a C# heir latest version, but it is not sold in this country, and therefor has no DOT rating. I spoke to my insurance (health) company, and they said they could deny a claim if I was wearing "non-approved equipment. With that in mind I returned the C3-which fit me perfectly to the London dealer I bought it from. It was also one of the lightest modulars you could buy, but now I need something to replace it, and I really do like a modular, with an internal visor.

The Nolan is nice, but is not a great fit for my head either.

Thus, I am looking for some ideas.
