Two weeks ago I scored a great deal on a mint '07 LX150 with only 312 miles. Having paid so much less than I expected, I figured I could afford some bling. Here's what the bike looks like now with the full chrome kit, original Piaggio flyscreen, and Max and Willie tool bag installed:

Installing the chrome kit took up much of the past weekend and reacquainted me with much of my vocabulary of profanity!

The tool bag is intended to provide some additional enclosed storage for stuff I didn't want to clutter up the pet carrier with... tire repair kit, first aid kit, flashlight, low-value tools, etc.

The tool bag is mounted in such a way as to allow the rear rack to be lowered without removing it, so that the rack can be used in the normal fashion (I schlep a lot of packages to the post office and the UPS store):

When I need to, I can still mount my S/X Appeal soft top case for still more enclosed stowage.

In the interest of making this scooter the most versatile possible hauler, I'm working on a quick-release system right now so that I can very quickly go back and forth between the open rack and the top case.

Thanks for the pics, now I can show my dealer how a chrome kit should be put on. They did such a half assed job, TWICE, that it is not even funny.

I've never seen anyone install a tool bag like that on the underside of the rack, what a fantastic idea.

Sweet! I put that same PITA chrome kit on my wifes LX(which recently was sold ) with the help of two work mates. It really looks nice! Same fly screen also.
I agree with Benito, that tool kit is ingenious!
Also, welcome to MV!

Very nice job! Especially with that Tool Kit mount idea like Benny said!

If you do think up a slick quick release for your soft case, be sure and let us all see that too.

Happy riding.
