"Should" trumps "Could" in my opinion. If the manufacturer says Champion, then I would use the Champion.

I set up a group buy here a few months back and I am using a Denso Iridium. If you look for that old group buy post you will see actual model number info too.

For years I ran Champs in my 2 strokes, but they kept fouling, so I tried NGKs and they stopped fouling.
I have a champ in my GTS, but I plan on going NGK next. As for going with what the manufacture says, I wont ever use Savas again. Find one you trust and works for you is what Id suggest. Manny |

They are more expensive than Champions. Probably more of a manufacturer cost-cutting exercise! NGKs tend to run slightly better than champions IMHO. |

The stock Champion in my GTS fouled after 4000 miles. Replaced it with the NGK CR8EIX. Same heat range as the Champion. 500 miles and running fine.

I found that the original Champion plug in my Quasar engine was gapped at about .015 in, but the manual says to use about .025 in. I regapped mine to .025 in, but can't say whether it provides better performance.

I will personally never use anything but a NGK or Denso Iridium plug. They are a little more but still well under $10 a piece.
