I'm thinking about trading the wife's 250 for something with better dealer coverage.

Bought it for her to ride to the bus stop to go downtown.
She's changed jobs so I'm riding it to work.

It's a cool scooter, but I'm 6'6" 275 and it's a tad cramped / under-powered.

Nearest dealer is not rideable from here, hate the whole trailer trip.

Frankly, I'm not impressed with the technology / build quality and I'm also tired of all the attention it generates.

I'm in the Woodlands / Houston area if anyone is interested in a low mileage MP3.

Nah..... do what you think is right. Don't worry about the naysayers. I hope you get a good price for it.

Do what you have to do, man... Don't have what you don't love.

With the MP3, I, personaly, like the difference and I love talking about the scoot. I'll spend as much time as I can or anyone wants to talk about it. I don't mind the attention. I know it lifts the spirits of those who don't ride it, just alittle bit. I like to make people smile, so I play with them. It's more of a celebration of the good we can do when the MP3 rolls, the good we are capable of. The MP3 rolls, heads turn, spirits lift and we have a sense that no matter how bad things get, we can create things that are awesome and it'll be okay. A flicker of hope rolls with MP3. So I don't mind not being invisible, when just alittle good comes of it...

You'll do fine, my friend...Make yourself happy....

Get what you want. I thought I wanted a Harley Heritage Soft Tail, when I took the Riders Course in May. I bought the MP3 400, because I thought it was safer with the two front wheels and the automatic. At first I thought it was so ugly. At least it was something a little safer to learn about traffic hazards etc. I had absolutely no desire to ride to an Emergency Room. I am fifty five and injuries don't heal that quick, anymore. The more I rode it , the more fun it became. I look for curves as I think it is fun to lean. With the windshield I just added, 80 MPH, seems easy. Who wants to shift and feel a heavy cruiser, when you can just "TWIST AND GO!"

I vote with "do what you want" but have you tried a 500? Or thought about holding out for the 850? I went for a shifter for a time but, like Papa Bear, can't see going through all the gears in town. My 500 leaves everything at the stoplight - including my buddy's Harley. I'm gone by the time he hits second. And cars? They don't stand a chance.

On my trip to Austin I hit 93mph on the speedometer and it wasn't breathing hard. What are you looking for? A crotch rocket?

I may have come across more negative about the genre than I intended.

Test rode the 500 around the lot at the dealer and was very impressed.
Really liked the increased torque and overall size of the vehicle.

Briefly, I wanted it bad!

But, its very pricey and I'm still hosed for a local "ride-to" dealer.

I can't trade in the wife's scooter for something too big for her to
ride w/o risking, well....issues (married guys?)

I really have a great time commuting on the 250, but I don't think
its the best fit for our situation.

Right now there's six bicycles, two motorcycles (his and her's) and the MP-3 our garage.

The cars set out in the driveway, which is OK by me!

The MP3 is quite pricy.

The 250 is the same price one can get a normal 500, and 500, well the pricetag is the same as a normal heavy sports bike.

The key words are the price you can get a NORMAL "x". Who wants normal to be associated with their bike?

+1. Vespa GTS: $6,000. MP3 500: $8,900. Style, stability and stares: Priceless.

Well the price you can get a 500 i get the 250, so with the current "exchange" value i would have to pay $11,000 for a 500.

Thats the price

I'm in the Kingwood area and my bike doesn't really seem to generate all that much attention.

As far as the dealer not being ridable not sure if you know but... - there's a dealer off of 59..

6100 Southwest Freeway
Houston, TX 77057

About 40 miles or so from ya'. Not sure if you'd consider that not ridable but, my dealer(s) in Florida were 45 miles from me.

I've had my oil changed in Houston once and Chris (I'm assuming the owner) was real nice and took great care of my baby.

But, alas, you must do as you feel is right for you.
