ok, odd question. I am looking for a topcase that can hold a binder/folder. I know that is weird, but when I ride to school on my scooter none of my storage options can fit my folders in it. does anyone have a topcase that is big enough to hold their binders?! (also - one that actually locks, not like a milk crate or anything)

There was a recent thread on "What topcase should I buy?'
The answer was overwhelmingly Givi. They make a variety of sizes easily capable of handling your college stuff. Try the Search function too - 'topcase' should bring up a bunch of threads. Good luck |

My Vespa topcase will hold my entire backpack...and I put a computer in it. It doesn't have a problem accommodating that and a giant Smart Water bottle. I know nothing about the Givi topcases.

Givi Maxi - lots of storage and can hold my computer (in case) book binder, texts etc. and holds two ff helmuts or ff helmut and armored jacket.

You were askiing about a top case. I don't have one, but I regularly haul multiple legal volumes (3 inch binders), along with a change of clothes, computer, and lunch, in my PakRest without difficulty. When I get to work, I the whole works can be carried like a case (albeit, a strangely shaped one)

The Vespa brand topcase for the GT/GTS will hold my 15" Macbook and other stuff but when I had a Vespa brand topcase on my ET4 it was too small. I would advise against the Vespa brand topcase for the ET and go with a GIVI or other brand.

my Vespa LX top case (on an S) holds my laptop and law books just fine. Only problem I've had is the residual red paint from the case that somehow got on the inside of the case rubs off on my bag.

Somebody recently mentioned a top case from J C Whitney that was very satisfactory and much less expensive than Vespa accessories.

The reason I am so concerned with needing a big one is because I will be losing the under the seat storage! Thanks to everyone for their replies!! |

Also, if you plan on top case installation, steer clear of the fold down models of racks. It puts the topcase further back than desirable. Can't use the topcase as a backrest, and heavy loads shift the scoot's center of gravity away from the front wheel. There is a rack specifically for topcases on the Stella/PX, ![]() or get something like one of these: Al |

If your dealer can't get you Givi, you could try one of the standard Genuine top cases. I just eyeballed it and it looks like it should fit some binders in it no problem, best thing to do though is hop on down to the dealer with a binder and try it!

Not a student but a teacher... the Vespa topcase holds my laptop in bag with lots of room for lunch.

I like the Givi E370. Looks great on a GTS and cost less than a Vespa case. It also has an option of a brake light, which adds to safty.

I just wear my old backpack I've had since middle school... It's kind of a drab olive, though, so I put some reflectors and blinkers (like joggers wear) on it. No need for a topcase yet.
Kind of a pain on the back around here with all the potholes, though . |

The GTS topcase is more than enough room for my bag (notebooks, computer, and a textbook or two).
The S/X appeal roll bag is surprisingly large, and no one at school has ever tampered with it. |

I've got a Givi top case on my BV 200 and brought the shop manual in today to copy for someone. I take manuals back and forth from the office to the house all the time.

WSU
and no shit our mascot is The Shocker! hehe http://www.goshockers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=7500&KEY=&ATCLID=623477 Hand gesture controversy- The Shockers are also known for the hand gesture used by many students and fans, often confused with the popular culture hand gesture known as the shocker. This hand gesture is held up during free throws and three point shots at basketball games. The hand gesture referred to as "The Shocker" in popular culture today is actually a different formation all-together from the one used for many years by WSU's cheer squads, players and fans. The student body and cheer squad at WSU started dropping the use of the thumb in WSU's hand gesture around the time that the sexually-connotative gesture was gaining popularity, causing many people to draw a correlation between the WSU hand gesture and "The Shocker" sexual hand gesture. Since that time the administration of the school has strongly discouraged the flashing of the hand gesture without the use of the thumb by fans and students. For the most part this has been adhered to, causing the traditional WSU shocker hand gesture to be restored to its previous formation and meaning, which was nothing more than a hand formation in the form of the letter "W".
