Hey, don't know if anyone else has seen this site, but I just found it so I thought I'd share(sorry if its been posted before)

http://www.athensscooterco.com/

They're located in Ohio, which is nice and they offer pretty much everything off the schematics for the mp3s, BV500 and more. Plus cos they're U.S., there's no Pounds to Dollars conversion. I know a lot of us do mods and lose screws and want extra panels, etc, so here's an in state place...

No problem .

BTW, it's not the most navigatable site, but if you go to parts finder, your bike model, and voila! the OEM stuff

Also, if you do some poking they sell oil, air filters, and regular maintanence items as well as other stuff like topcase mounts, topcases, headlights, etc.

Nice find
Thanks Luther,

That one is goin to come in handy. That is one of the coolest towns in Ohio. You can't imagine how beautiful. It's a college town. I think Ohio University is located there.

I can see an engine rebuild being inspired by those schematics some day.

Thanks, again Dave

Oh Yeah, I came across this site a couple months ago, when I was tracking down a Piaggio Top Case....
I found several sites that had Cases advertized and order-able but didn't have it in stock...

Big Tip here....If you find a part on a site, Call Them to make sure they have it IN STOCK...Advertizing it and having it is two different things....As it turned out they didn't have the Case in stock, but "oh sure you can order it and pay for it and wait." No thanks, I always call the site and make sure it's there and the quantity on hand. When there is a problem part or a popular part, it best to know whether it's in stock and how many they have...I finally found the Case in Dallas, after I made about 15 calls all over the U.S. I got it....

This is a keeper for sourcing...I hooked it to my Favorites/Bookmark option..Good One...Thanks for the reminder.

I think it's the idea you can look up OEM parts with prices that makes it a great site. You have to remember though, this is just a dealership that has gone to the time a expense of setting up a site to sell parts on the web. I promise 99% of the stuff is not going to be in stock. You can't stock everything a manufacture sells and your not expected too. They should stock maintenance and regularly used parts, but that stock needs to be paid for so you can't have millions of dollars tied up in parts.

Piaggio needs to take a look at how GM does parts. They can have 80% of parts ordered to the dealer the next business day, 15% is 2 days and the other 5% can very from 3 days to a week or two.

Thanks bro, cool site. Shipping seem high though...I started an order for 10 of the cotter pins for tire changes and 6 grommets for the windscreen. Total price for the goods was 11 dollars but then they wanted 9.99 for shipping. Seemed a bit high. I will wait till I need brake shoes and order them all at once to save on shipping....i hope.

Yeah, don't know them enough to vouch for them yet, but seems pretty straightforward, and its nice to find "local" OEM places. BTW, did you notice that orders $150 or more are free shipping? That's what I'll probably do...corral up a wishlist eventually and order all at once. I've been contemplating ordering the 3 front and 2 rear panels on the 500 and that way I can have them custom painted, keep riding, and swap out as I like. Red one day, black another, who knows! Kinda lucky cos I know the 400 and 250 have more panels, so its a bit easier on me in that respect, though I do sometimes miss my trunk...

Yeah I did notice that and I think I will use your "wish list" plan too. Thanks again for sharing this site!

Hey stickyfrog, thanks for the idea. I just reread your post carefully and was like "Why would he want windshield grommets?"...you're a genius. That'll come in real handy in our neck of the country where, as you know, mother nature gets drunk in the fall and spring and can't decide from day to day if she wants to be cold...

Even if you don't meet the free-shipping threshold, it makes sense to hold off and order as much stuff as possible. Amortizes the shipping cost. A single screw costs about the same to ship as a pound of 'em.

Yeah, quick change on the windscreen! I also thought about ordering an entire rear wheel assembly for quick changes of tires based on upcoming weather/road conditions...

Thanks for the compliment but I think my wife would argue that (with good reason for the most part) . Laughing emoticon

Oh GM...what a disaster.... At the risk of getting hammered, I have to say GM has been a disappointment. Prehaps, GM can learn from Piaggio about having a beneficial point of view for the masses and Piaggio can learn from GM about how to distribute parts and Good customer service.

Maybe getting about time to buy GM with bailout coming from the DEMs. Hmmmm...Glad I bought the MP3....

Yeah, I got that... but, thanks for restating what I meant. You supported my point it's unwise to order over the internet when the part is obscure or popular. Make a call to the Contact Us link....Thanks Wayne...

GM needs to close it's doors and reopen as a NON union manufacture and they could be making lots of money. $1,800 of every GM vehicle pays for health care. That is ridiculous.

I'm getting off alive. I've got the mothership circling waiting to beam me up. That's why I bought an Mp3, so they would recognize me. Don't worry, they're beaming up anyone on an mp3 cos they can't recognize me with my helmet on

Have you been ingesting those organic molecules in your class? I have never met a "sane" chemist or physicist!

+1 Razz emoticon . I haven't ingested anything, but I did cut it close in lab the other day when I spilled H2SO4 on my shirt! Good thing I was wearing a t-shirt underneath. It put holes in my outer shirt and left black burns on my tee.

Ah yes, sulphuric acid has such a lovely "hellish" odor too. Hard to believe that stuff provides juice to jump your scoot huh?
