I recently bought a replacement trim piece for the right side of the legshield on my GTS. You know, the silver plastic bead that runs along the outside edge of the front and floor board. I thought it would be easy to pop off the old one, but it won't budge. I tried removing the plastic trim behind it at the back to expose the end and prying from there. No luck. I'd appreciate tips from those who have done the job.

Steve,

You have to remove most of the front of the scooter to do this job, period.

Horn cover, head set, glovebox and floorboard. This is not an easy job, maybe you can search technical archives on MV. If you snap a tab along the way you are going to wish that you had your Vespa dealer do it.

Good luck,
SDG

it's doable, but yes....a royal pain in the ass.

Will take about 2 hours total. But rewarding as heck! And you get to know the in's and out's of your scooter.

The trickiest item that requires some finesse is removing the glovebox and reinstalling it.

If you have a friend to help for both moral support and to offer a hand, you'll be fine.

Just have that 12 pack of beer nearby to make the day go better!
