I just picked up my used 2007..
It has a charger socket (same as car lighter).
Is/was this stock or an addition?
I can't seem to find online anywhere.
Thanks all.

It's an addition.

Motorsports has a plug-n-play version already installed in one of the knee panels.

Unfortuntely there are several wiring schemes. Not all work as charger options

Did you undue the one screw and look to see if its connected? Its a plug-n-play install - perhaps its unplugged?

If it's powered from the alarm connector, it could be hot when the key is turned on, or full time, depending on which pins it takes its power from. The unit from Motorsport used to have incorrect instructions to wire it to the horn - it was hot only when the horn was blowing. The instructions now read to tap into the running light power: http://www.scooterwest.com/item_detail/More-Info/2786/show_info/yes/
which would be hot only when the key is turned on.

Y, check it either way (key on, key off).
I installed mine to run with the key off, but this is a very personal thing.

Where is the best place to connect it to have it hot all the time? This would be a good way to check for charge state and to charge if necessary.

The alarm connector: Turn Signal Beeper and 12V Power Outlet on a GTS

Or you could just run it to the +12 on the battery (fused of course).

If you do that, make it a heavy wire (#14 or better) in prep for the inevitable Nautilus installation. Put the fuse at the battery end of the wire.
It's a bit more work than opening the knee panel and having the alarm connector fall right into your hand...

John where are you going to put your Stebel? I want one and no one so far can give me a good mounting place.

Check my threads, I mounted mine behind the left knee pad and zipped tied it into place. Can ever see owning another scooter without one.

That would be a good place. There's more room there than behind the horn cover. It could go anywhere behind the leg shield, down around the radiators, too.

Same here, and used a stiff wire to fish the wiring without dismantling the glove box.

I actually pulled the glove box off and the floor and ran the wire down the neck to the battery. Its good experience, just dont undo the wires and cables from the glove box.

I removed the original horn and mounted the Stebel relay there, because the horn bracket can be used as ground. Put the glove box back in, and then wiggled the horn in behind the knee pad. I zip tied the horn to a glove box bolt on the upper left. Ive had no problem with it there.

Buglake mounted hers where the stock horn goes, but on a GT theres more room there than the GTS. Buglakes instructions are what I used and you cant go wrong with them.

Heres how mine looked after squeezing it in the hole.
