Modern Vespa

I noticed this:

Has anyone installed it on their ET4? If so, what are your thoughts?

I have not used this particular radio, but I did have a scooter several years ago (not a Vespa) that did have a radio and speakers installed from the factory. The volume never was loud enough to hear over the engine/wind noise. It was a waste and a drain on my battery.

I installed it on my ET4. It is surprisingly loud. With it turned up 3/4 of the way I can actually still hear it at about 55mph. However, the sound quality is not great, there can be quite a bit of distortion at the louder volume settings. Also, it does take a big drain on the batteries, so I definitely use it judiciously and not all the time. That being said, it is fun to use every once in a while, and when you turn it up it definitely grabs peoples attention . . .

oh one more thing, the FM radio is useless . . . it will keep a station tuned for about minute, but then as soon as I rev the engine I guess the surge in current causes it to scan for another station and then you're just listening to static. So I only use it with my mp3 player.

Our more recent batch of these has the FM radio issue solved, and now also includes a remote.
