I just had a Top Case installed on my 2007 Vespa 250 GTS and now the ride feels a lot different, is that because of the change in the air flow or what?

Putting extra weight up high will definitely affect the way the bike feels, and will change the amount you need to lean in a turn slightly. An empty topcase shouldn't affect it a lot, but there's still an effect.

A change in the airflow does occur. However I would think a more likely cause of the difference in ride, is the added weight. When I added my topcase I found a noticiable difference in how the bike leans.

I keep the heavy stuff under the seat ( chain, tools, air pump etc... puppys and kittens of course as well) and the light rain gear etc in the top case.
I use the top case to store my helmet , gloves, glasses etc...when I am off the scooter.
I DO have a rather heavy backpack, ( books ,. laptop etc...) that will fit in the topcase BUT I hang it low on the purse hook while riding.
Jess is correct, keep the heavy stuff low and in the middle not high and hanging off of the back wheel!

Did the installation include new bar ends?

The biggest difference I noticed on my S150 was that wind definitely caused a more pronounced buffeting effect.

I've found that i won't ride with my top box on in the rain.
The back end is too likely to swing out on wet roundabouts.
Especially considering i keep my school books in my box.
and i do A-level physics, and the books weigh a tonne!!!!
