I am done. 35F this morning with a hard wind. Forget the Heated Gips, Handle Bar Muffler, Tall Windshield, Thermal Pants, Heated Gloves, Baclava Face Mask, Thermoscud or a Lap Arpon Blah, Blah, Blah.

It's to F*%&*^%^$cking COLD.

Today: Battery Tender, Heated Garage, Stabil Gas additve and a Cover.

I am a whimp. Who is with me?

Cheers,

Gianni

The only reason I didn't ride in this morning in the 20's was the ice on the road. We had sleet and snow last night and the city, county and state didn't do anything to clear the roads.

Cold doesn't bother me or the BV but ice keeps me off the road.

Rode this morning here in Boston... WICKED COLD!!!

it was in the high 20's..... I have a thermoscud on the way, so that should make my riding season much more comfortable!!

But as long as there is no snow or ice I plan on riding...

Under 40 and I'm done. That's the nice part about living in Colorado, just because it gets below 40 a couple of days doesn't mean it won't be 75 a few days later.

I am definately a whimp. I grew up in Texas where "cold" is considered one of those unspeakable four-letter words.

But I'll still ride in anything but frozen precipitation.

Mostly because I don't have anything else to drive, and hate bumming rides.

Not me!

25° and snowing last night. No lap apron - or leg shield for that matter - no handle bar muff or heated grips. I do have a small windshield, though.

It was scary as hell going over bridges, too.

I won't ride when the roads are wet and the temperature is near freezing, but plan to if they are dry.

I also keep the local weather radar up on my work computer to keep ahead of impending storms.

I rode a few days at 35-38 deg F recently.
Getting over a wicked cold so drove the cage yesterday and today.

I plan on riding the rest of the week though.
Love the South, you can basically ride two-wheelers and play golf year round, yet still have seasons to enjoy.

Gotta go with the "no balls" group here.

I don't handle cold well (and I lived in Iceland for 2 1/2 years) and I can't really afford to buy all the cold weather gear gear right now, so it's back to the satellite radio, heated seats and the warmth of the car heater for me.

I will be doing the Battery Tender, gas stabilizer, and cover the scoot up for a long winter nap sometime between now and Thanksgiving.

The coldest ride on the scooter I have gone on in the last 9 months has been in the low 50s. It was in the 80s again today. I swear it never gets cold here and I am ready for it. I want to see it dip into the high 40s at night. Razz emoticon

It's been between 28F and 32F the last few mornings. I haven't felt that bad at all. I just were PVC pants and have the rain liner in my jacket. I ride about 15 mins every morning on the highway. I have an apron on order but I haven't needed it yet.

Was 25 F this morning, No Windscreen, Muffs or Leg Cover. Through on my sweat shirt, fleece vest, 2 jackets and my rain pants, not to bad. Feet got a little chilly

No ice or snow riding.

Oh, my Leg Apron should be here tomorrow, am getting Handlebar Muffs and OEM Windscreen for Christmas.

Heck the gas money I am not spending is paying for all my cold weather stuff.

I'm a wimp!

I'm putting mine in storage on Saturday, but haven't actually ridden for a couple weeks. I am completely cold blooded and tense up like nobody's business when I'm cold. I know I'd be more focused on that than on the road, so I made the decision not to ride. I might pick up some winter gear over the course of the year to extend my season by a few weeks, but right now, it's the subway for me.

I'll bet it's really colder than indicated from the wind chill off all of that water around you, eh?

That was me this morning, too. I found some ice the hard way in Needham. I had about 6 layers on and was toasty, and bounced Laughing emoticon

Long underwear, particularly thick polyprops, work REALLY well to stay warm.

My record is 11 F many years ago, in my younger years. Now with my mostly shorter rides, I can get there and back in the time it takes to get dressed for really cold.

+1!!!! I ride strictly for fun.
And my fun stops with pain from cold...

When I was younger I thot people would admire me for 'toughing it out.'
But I'm older now, and don't much give a crap what people think about me in such unimportant matters. Razz emoticon

You mean it was warmer in Boston and NY than it was here this morning? We woke up to 15 F and yes, the scooter is covered and I took the cage to work.

I'm trying to strike a compromise. I'm not willing to wrap it up for the season, but 45 mins each way and one of the trips in the dark, gets a little much. If I can use it 2 or 3 times a week at this time of the year it's a win for me.
