As many of you know, I've been fighting with my insurance company to pay for the operation to fix my wrist when I crashed this past summer. I had two appeals out. One for the guy who put me to sleep and a huge one for the hospital. They denied my appeal for the $35,095.12. They paid the guy who put me to sleep. I contacted a lawyer and am still waiting to hear from him.
I called insurance company today (I call every day) and this is what they said.
"Your hospital bill has been paid"
Thinking she was looking at the emergency visit and not the surgery I asked her:
"when was this paid?"
She answered,
"yesterday"
Of course I checked on line and sure enough, the bill has been paid. Don't know what happened except I had a lot of people praying, but even after they sent me a three page letter telling me why they were NOT going to pay, they turned around and paid the bill.
I still owe my share of the bill, "$500.00" but that's a cake walk considering what the original amount was.
I guess this just shows, NEVER give up and call the insurance company every single day. After awhile they WILL pay. Hooray for our side!!!!!
Just picture me with huge grin on my face.
