Has anyone installed a seat heater? I ordered one this morning. I think I'm going to take the seat off this weekend, unstaple the cover, trim some foam, add some gel, put the heater pad in place, snake the wire into the under seat compartment, install the 3 setting switch and wire it to the fuse panel. I don't think I'll mess with running the switch up to the front of the scooter as I don't feel like taking panels off to run the wires.

Any thoughts or suggestions ?

I installed one onto the Smrfmobile but went with using a Kolpin ATV heated seat cover. It's a neoprene type material cover that has a removable heating element inside it, comes with a battery & 12v outlet connection, inline fuse and on/off switch. I was able to put it right on top of my existing gel seat pad.

Well I got the seat heater put in this weekend. I carefully pulled the staples off the seat cover and then rolled it back to expose the padding. I laid the heater on top of the foam and cut a hole to feed the power cable down through to the seat pan. I fished the power cable through the through the same hole as seat sensor and ran it directly to the battery via a fuse/switch. I rolled the cover back down and smoothed it out. I did not re-staple as I plan on doing some reshaping/padding. I thought I had ordered the 3 stage (high/med/low) switch, but I did not. It is just an on/off. Well it works and it works really really well. I might end up with frost bite on the front of my legs and 3rd degree burns on my keister. I'll go over to radio shack and get a high/med/low switch this week and swap it out. We'll see if it helps on those 25 degree morning rides. All in all though, for 50 bucks my immediate impression is it'll be worth it.

I got it from www.heeters.com. I put in my order online and then called to follow up because I thought I'd made a mistake when I filled out their form. The form they use is a little old school, but it works.

Are there slip-on seat heaters out there?
