Vespa GT125 Seat Lock Jammed!

The electric seat opening button is still making the same noise it always does and i've tried pressing the lever inside the glovebox but the seat wont budge! Anyone got any ideas? I have some shopping in there that i want to get out before it gets warm

Has always worked.

you say you're pressing the lever, surely you should be pulling it toward you?????
