HAHA ...

"these sell for 10 grand when restored"

Right. That's why my clubmate has a perfectly restored one of those he can't get rid of for $3000. Between 2 of my clubmates, we have like 5 of those for sale up here.

So, what's the story on the Bella? Is it the love it or hate it styling, obscurity, or unobtainable parts that keep one from selling for $3k?

I think they are pretty cool when fixed up. I know they are not worth 10g but 3 thousand sounds like a good deal for a restored one.

Both Greg + Diane in my club have one / more they will sell you. They are pretty awesome bikes. Nice riding, eye catching. They foot shift ...unlike a vintage vespa or lambretta. Nothing WRONG with them, per se. One of the Oddscoots with a bigger following ( BellaTreffen in Germany is a Bella only rally ). There's lots of places to get parts, just not so many over in the States. If you have a hookup in Germany it's a big help.

I'll look into it. As often as I'd ride a vintage, waiting for parts (if need be) really is a non-issue for me.
