Hi to you all,

I have two Vespa motorscooters, a silver GTS 250 ie (for my wife) and a white GTS 300 Super for myself. Last week we rode togehter for the first time and what happend....the 250 is as fast as the 300...no difference at all?!? I rode the first 200km on the silver one as mine was not there yet and I almost always drive full throtlle but I really thought there would be a difference between the 250 and the 300....

how can I tune up the 300 a little

The 300 is tuned for a wider, more tractable power band and better economy.

We don't get those here, so I'm only guessing, but the 300 should give you better hill climbing, better response two-up and more progressive and controllable throttle.

Since the 300 weighs about the same, puts out about the same power it shouldn't be faster at all. The slightly lighter piston and peakier tuning could actually make the 250 feel edgier.

If you don't like your 300, I'll send you my address and you can ship it to me, I'll pay the postage.

I could have sworn a shithe load of supers were shipped out with the 300 logos by mistake Supers are actually 250's with different shocks and a couple of different upgrades. 300 logo is actually a 250.

Anyone else heard this?

Yes. that's true but seems to have no bearing on the OP since he appears to be in Europe where the GTS 300 is a reality.

i found the 300 against the 250 .. was faster off the line .. and could pull uphill better than the 250 .. the top speed were about the same .. both with flyscreens and standard exhausts ...

and boy do i love my 300 ... just looks better .. sorry 250 owners

I've been looking closely at the white 250s here in the states but what I love most about the 300 is the analog speedometer and fuel level dials. It looks like the 200 setup except it has a black background. If the 250 supers here in the states had that display, I would be selling my 250 and grabbing one.

I took a photo of one in Italy, I'll upload it if I can find it.

As its my 1st scooter, or bike...to be honest, im impressed.style, fun, fairly quick, storage good, cheap to run, ..bit on the heavy side, but would,nt change anything, apart from if i had the full test, id have brought the larger, cc.... ..But for now, this will be fine....Got a few friends on scooters, geared type.. ..And hoping to get about a bit next year, hopefully rallies , with a soul room...camping, or B +B, etc......Still finding out loads of tips from all the sites.inc, gts owners forum...(maver) gave me a few goody ones.... Laughing emoticon ..Wish id done it years ago....you live and learn, mate....Too busy with the music stuff, dancing all over the uk, etc..Anyway you never know, we may meet up sometime, iv got a few pics of me on the scoot, on here somewhere, cheers..

Yesterday I had the chance to test ride a 300 Super. Straight after getting of my GTS250, it felt significantly more powerful, more punchy; raced up hills like nobody's business. Also the suspension felt firmer, and it coped better with bumps, especially when cornering. Held a line and tracked really well. Too bad the 300 is $2,000 more expensive here than the 250, otherwise I'd be ready to trade in my trusty 250.
