We always run a 5K on Thanksgiving morning unless we are traveling. Its a good way to burn some calories before the big glutton feast. I figure I can eat and drink what I want after doing one of these. I guess if I ride the scooter to the race I can stay on theme.

I ran our local 'Turkey Trot' 5k for about a decade.
Haven't the last few years.

Our scooter club is riding in the local Thanksgiving parade though!

I do a 5 mile run in Nashville. This is the 15th year. I've registered for all 15 years, but there have been a couple that I didn't make the race. One year as we were getting there my daughter looked at me and said 'can't we just go to Waffle House instead?'. So, that's what we did. But, I'm running it tomorrow!

I'm guessing as with all cultures there is a celebration at the end of the harvest season. A time to reflect over the work done to collect enough food to survive through the colder less fertile months. It's not an American thing Canada has thanksgiving, Germans have Octoberfest, Muslims have Ramadan. and so on and so on
