Hi Folks
Im in the market for a 125 but not sure which to look for. I currently have an ET2

Reliability is the biggest factor as I will use it every day. I heard the PX125's (from my local dealer) are not that reliable.

What are peoples views on the best 125 out there.

pre-leader ET4, in my biased opinion.

actually that's not strictly true. properly sorted, they run like little tanks, but they can be fussy. the most reliable all-round is probably a honda or something.

Without doubt the PX 125, you will really love riding it and the options and engine upgrades are virtually endless.

And if your local dealer says they aren't reliable then get yourself to a dealer who knows what he's talking about!!!!

Heresy but if you want something reliable, fast and robust, try a ....

Honda, Dylan or the PSI.

I have a Vespa LX for looks but if you don't care, buy a Honda. The acceleration and handling is fantastic.

Any moden 125cc scooter/motorbike is going to be reliable

The Genuine Buddy 125!

Unfortunately mate with a question like tyours I doubt if you'll be any the wiser no matter how many replies you get because everyone will give you a different answer. Seriously I'd get myself down to a few dealers and try a few scooters out for size comfort, colour etc, it's no good getting a "reliable" scooter if you arent comfy riding it, are too big or small and hate the colour.
Regardless of our poinions at the end of the day it's your money and YOUR choice...

BUT GET A PX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hands down, the easy choice. The Buddy 125 is inexpensive, quick, sturdy, cute and reliable. After all the 125 Buddys that have been sold, we've only found two issues: 1) The oil filter has to be screwed on *hard*, much harder than many mechanics are used to. This caused a few unpleasant surprises at first, but most mechanics and riders know better now. 2) A few folks have run into problems with their stators, not a significant percentage, but a few, and they've ended up complaining loudly because it takes a while to get a replacement. Of the thousands and thousands of Genuine Buddy 125s that are out there, it's amazing how many happy riders there are.

P.S. Buy new. The Genuine warranty does not transfer, so buying used isn't terrific unless you get a *really* good deal.

Yamaha just came out with a Zuma 125, fuel injected. Looks almost like the small 50 Zuma they've been making for awhile. I don't know how the price/value compares to Buddy, tho.

The Buddy is good, now SYM has the Fiddle 125. It might prove to be worth a test ride. I liked it fine. R

ok, looks like theres no definitive answer, looks and styling are important, thats why I quite like the look of the PX and also the LML. LX still not classic enough looking. I like the GTS and GTV but a bit too pricey.

Now i just need to find a delaer who has them all in stock!

Dont want a Honda though, gotta be a Vespa

It has to be a Vespa, I dont want speed, i want style.

Do you want a auto, or geared mate...also will you be taking the full test soon ?...And would you wanting a larger cc then ???..if YES, then get cheap 1st.,,then get a auto gts 250, 300, cc... 8) ...if not, then stick with the 125cc, like me... ..there are a few new px 125cc left at some dealers, at the min.....better than the L.M.L..... but thats my view, .ethier way, just get one....

Didn't notice you were in the UK, if the PX is available it would be on my short list.

The UK has so many more choices than what little is offered in the US....
Give you an example, my Typhoon, made since 1994, was imported only for two years, 2005 and 2006....

If i had to buy another scooter right now it would probably be a GT200. I've heard good things about them from everybody i know who owns one ... carbed engine so less electronic arcana to deal with, flickable around town but will cruise along at 70 all day without a problem. it's out of production so you'd have to buy a used one - our very own williamvillage got a lovely one a few weeks back, in perfect nick, with only 950 miles on it. we all hate him now

hi all ,my opinion is this ,i have a harley 883 , wanted a light manageable everyday machine , thaught it would be nice to get a vespa px 125 , baught one , after 1000 KM took it back !!!! reason, to pass euro 3 the engine is so restricted your only looking at about 8 H/P , and with gear changing the takeoff power is very poor [danrerous i would say] i changed mine for a gelira vx 125 [4 valve water cooled full 15 H/P in engine] this scooter is fast and great in traffic where this type of machine lives . its not all good though , the seat and suspention are very hard and the seat is quite high [put bitubo gas shocks on mine and have ordered an air hawk seat cushion] now this is a great sports scooter [with under seat storage] . hope this information helps . lollypop in the U/K .

A PX is a step in the right direction.

Yamaha zuma 125 has my vote for best 125.
